This item was moved from its original place in the Board Agenda.
At the Board of Education meeting on August 9, 2022, Assistant Superintendent of Business and Finance, Stacey Mallek, presented the tentative budget for the 2022-2023 school year to the Board of Education.

4. RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
The Board of Education recognized and celebrated the newly tenured District 25 teachers & staff.
"Teachers receive tenure in a school district when they have successfully completed 4 years of service in that district. Achieving tenure in District 25 is a very important statement from the Board and from the Administration that these teachers have had a very positive impact on our students and on our community, and we look forward to making a commitment to them to continuing their employment - continuing their impact, on our students for years to come." - Dr. Lori D. SAFETY & SECURITY UPDATE
In collaboration with District 25's Director of Facilities, Ryan Schulz, and Arlington Heights Police Officers and School Resource Officers, John O'Leary and Danny Malik, and at the previous request of the Board, Superintendent Dr. Bein presented an update on District 25's safety & security.
The Superintendent Report was split up for this meeting to allow School Information Officer, John O'Leary, the courtesy of participating in this presentation earlier in the evening.

District 25's Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning, Dr. Becky FitzPatrick, Thomas Middle School's Associate Principal and Summer U Principal, Nick Filipowski, Westgate's Assistant Principal/Student Services Coordinator and ESY Principal, Allie Yoder, and Band Teacher at Ivy Hill and Thomas and Summer Band's Director, Dana Berry presented an update on the following summer programs in District 25:

LOCAL EDUCATION AGENCY DETERMINATION FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION
Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, Diane Kaffka presented an update to the Board on the Illinois State Board of Education's (ISBE) recent “Determinations” on the performance of Local Education Agencies (LEA) regarding the provision of special education and related services.
Mrs. Kaffka reported that District 25 received the maximum score (3) on all indicators. District 25 also received the maximum score overall with 27 out of 27.

ADMINISTRATOR COMPENSATION REPORT PUBLIC ACT 96-0434
According to Public Act 96-0434, “on or before October 1 of each year, each school district in the State shall post on its Internet website, if any, an itemized salary compensation report for every employee in the district holding an administrative certificate and working in that capacity, including the district superintendent. This report shall be presented at a regular school board meeting, subject to applicable notice requirements”.

ADMINISTRATOR AND TEACHER SALARY & BENEFIT REPORT 2022
According to Public Act 97-0256, all school boards must report to the State Board of Education, on or before October 1 of each year, the base salary and benefits of the district superintendent and all administrators and teachers employed by the school district. For the purposes of this Section, "benefits" includes without limitation vacation days, sick days, bonuses, annuities, and retirement enhancements.
Prior to this annual reporting to the State Board of Education, the information is supposed to be presented at a regular school board meeting, subject to applicable notice requirements, and then posted on the Internet website of the school district.

DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS/STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE
Superintendent, Dr. Bein updated the Board of Education on the Cabinet level departments and their areas of focus for this coming school year.
Superintendent, Dr. Bein also updated the Board of Education on the progress of the Strategic Plan 2021-2025. Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning, Dr. Becky FitzPatrick, presented the newly created and soon to be public Strategic Plan Dashboard that will show the detailed progress of the Strategic Plan 2021-2025 by breaking it down into difference indicators, broad goals, objectives, and strategies.

The Board hosts two public comment opportunities on their agenda: 1) at the beginning of the meeting, prior to any agenda items, 2) at the end of the meeting after the agenda items have been discussed/presented.
