Thoughts from Erica: Levi is responding well to the antibiotics and additional blood cultures have so far been negative. His last temperature was Monday night so he should be on the upswing. His ANC is still sitting at zero and the doctors think the earliest he would be able to go home would probably be late next week, but it all depends on his count recovery. Who knows - maybe he will surprise us! The goal is for everything to continue to improve so he can be out of the hospital during the week of Christmas.
Thank you for all of the prayers and support - he's happy to be on the mend and feeling better 🧡.

Thoughts from Erica: In my last post I mentioned that Levi had spiked a fever - apparently Saturdays are fever days as this past Saturday night he again spiked a fever. Last time Tylenol was able to control his fever and all of his blood work came back negative for infections. This time we weren't so lucky. Yesterday was a rough day for him as he went from shivering cold to sweating with a temperature that didn't want to stay down. At times his temperature would spike to 103 even with Tylenol and they would surround him with ice packs.
They started him on antibiotics right away when his fever first started and bloodwork indicated that he has a staph infection in his bloodstream. Thankfully the antibiotics seem to be working as his temperature has been good this morning and he says he is starting to feel better.
December 16th is day 29 for him and it's typically around that day each cycle when he gets to go home for a bit. Infections can delay blood count recovery, but everyone's different so the doctor said when he gets out will be a moving target depending on how things go.
Praying for healing 🧡.
