Dear Bloom Families!

I hope you had a wonderful break from the school routine and were able to spend time doing what you love!

Welcome back to school and to 2025! We are excited for this upcoming semester with our students. We will return to our routines and procedures and persevere with our new learning. We invite you to visit Bloom and bring new friends with you to introduce them to our Bloom home.

I appreciate you for all you do to prepare your child for school every single day. The days may seem long but the years are short. Enjoy every moment with your quickly growing children.

An annual tradition that we have at Bloom is our 5th graders vs. Teachers Kickball game! At 1:00, we will meet on the field to play a game together. Let's go students! Let's go Teachers!

Attendance reminders:

Being in class every day is essential to academic growth. Please understand that attendance is taken twice a day. You will receive a recorded phone call when your child is absent, therefore, we ask that you call Susan at 731-3702 to report an absence. Thank you.

Jan 14: Awards Assembly for Quarter 2, by invitation

Jan 20: Martin Luther King Jr. day, no school for students and employees

Jan 23: Fire Drill and Bus Evacuation Drill, 9:30am

Jan 23: TUSD Step Up Expo Event at TCC, 5:30p-7:30pm. All TUSD families are invited to attend and visit all of TUSD schools in one place. This is a 'one-stop shopping' for 5th graders attending Middle School.

Jan 29: Professional Learning Day for all TUSD employees. No school for students.

Feb 4: Kinder Kickoff - children who turn 5 years old BEFORE September 1st, qualify to begin Kindergarten i n August 2025.

Feb 7: OMA Field Trip for Kindergarten

Feb 10-14: Love of Reading week. Check with your child's teacher if you would like to volunteer to read to the class

Feb 11: Fire Drill, 1:30pm

Feb 13-14: Parent Teacher Conferences, students dismiss at 10:55am. If your student is continuing to struggle academically, the classroom teacher will reach out to you to schedule a conference. You are also welcome to request a conference with the teacher.

Feb 17: Presidents' Day. This is NOT a holiday for TUSD, school is in session.

Feb 19: Heart Challenge Fundraiser Kickoff for students. (more information forthcoming)

Feb 20-21: Rodeo Break, no school for students or employees

Feb 24: Site Council meeting on Zoom. All parents and guardians are invited to attend. Please call Mari or Susan for the Zoom link

Feb 25: Spring Pictures for all students

Feb 26: Tucson Symphony Orchestra school assembly for 3rd-5th graders
