PULLING BACK INTO THE STATION!
SMCS will be building a K-12 virtual option for students and families with compromised health conditions and students capable of working well independently for the first semester.
SMCS will offer the following two options for the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year:
- Students back in school all day / all 5 days
- Students participate in a full virtual environment for the first semester
SMCS will NOT offer a hybrid approach (some in-person and some virtual) as an option to families.
The virtual option will be available for the entire school year. There will be opportunities for virtual learning students to return to in-person learning at semester or as agreed upon by the building principal. Students who begin the school year in-person will have the opportunity to move to the virtual platform at any point in the school year. Students will not, however, be able to toggle back and forth between in-person and virtual.
Virtual students will still have access to student services such as counseling, as well as career counseling for the high school students. Students attending virtually will also be able to participate in our co-curricular activities.
Due to the programming for early childhood, we are only offering the in-person model for preschool and 4K. Because of this, the virtual education option will be offered to families beginning with kindergarten.
In an attempt to best communicate with all our SMCS community, check out the series of videos to address topics as they relate to our fall re-entry.
