Schools Don’t Get Good by Luck!
On this St. Patrick’s Day weekend, I find myself thinking about luck. Are we lucky to be in St. Charles schools? Is your child lucky to have great teachers? Oprah Winfrey once said something that really resonated with me as I think about great schools: "I believe luck is preparation meeting opportunity." And honestly, when you look at the best schools out there, it's not about just lucking into success. It's about the hard work and preparation staff and students put in to make things happen.
In those outstanding schools, teachers aren't just winging it. They're planning lessons, tweaking their approach, and constantly learning themselves to give their students the best shot at success. They go to training during the school year and summer and most of them take college courses in order to hone their craft.
And students? They're not sitting around hoping for good grades to magically happen. They're putting in the hours, diving into their studies, and seizing every chance to grow. They know that success takes hard work… not luck!
So, when you see a student growing and learning, it's not luck. It's the result of all that preparation meeting the right opportunities. Tests, competitions, homework - you name it. It's about being ready when the moment comes. That's what sets our school apart. It's not about crossing your fingers and hoping for the best; it's about getting our students ready to make the most of every opportunity that comes their way.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Tim

5 Essentials Survey
One of the ways I get feedback is through the Illinois 5 Essentials Survey. Each year parents take this survey to let us know how we are doing as a school, and how I am doing as a leader.
Can you please take 10 minutes to complete this survey? I like to get to about 50% of our parents/guardians taking this survey, so the sooner we hit that target, the sooner I can quit asking you!
Here is the link to the survey. It is in Spanish and English.
Please be sure to put in Kane County as our county so you can find Wredling. Also, please read the questions and possible answers carefully as they sometimes mix up the "importance" of the responses.
Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Saints Helping Hawks
Just a reminder that SHH is an afterschool tutoring program and an extension of our school day. ALL students must follow WMS Guidelines for Success.
Along with the Guidelines for Success, student are expected to:
- stay the entire time unless parent communication is provided
- must be seated with a tutor (even if they just need a quiet space to work)
- working quietly and not disturbing others
- stay off ALL technology during the session unless it is teacher approved
- to bring all necessary materials to the LRC so that they can use the work time appropriately.
There are no exceptions to these rules. If students are not following the above, they will be asked not to return to SHH. There has been an uptick in disruptive behaviors at SHH and we want to ensure this is a productive and positive environment for students. If you have any questions about SHH please reach out to Mrs. Batka, Ms. Brummel, Mrs. Gonzalez, & Mr. Vale.
It's not too early to start planning for your summer! D303 has a variety of course options and summer camps. Keep checking back as more camps will be added!

James and the Giant Peach Jr.
This adaptation of the classic novel by Roald Dahl follows the story of a boy named James as he embarks on an epic adventure in…a giant peach. James, neglected and mistreated by his aunts, is ordered to cut down the old fruit tree. Inside, he finds a magical potion that creates a gigantic peach. Leaving his gloomy life behind, James sets out on the ocean inside the peach. Inside, he meets a charming and quirky group of insects, and they all go together on a journey of danger, excitement, and self-discovery. From the mind that gave the world Matilda and Willy Wonka comes this story of friendship, courage, and believing in yourself.
