Looking Ahead: Exciting Events and Important Updates in Maple Run
As the holiday season approaches, the Maple Run community continues to shine with remarkable activities and accomplishments that bring us together in celebration and learning. No matter the time of year, the dedication and enthusiasm of our students, staff, and families remind us of the strength of our community.
Last week, we celebrated Computer Science Education Week with engaging activities that highlighted the importance of problem-solving and creativity in today’s digital world. Across the district, students explored coding, programming, and other innovative projects that demonstrated their growing skills in this critical field.
At Saint Albans City School, 6th-grade students experienced the thrill of winter during a day at Jay Peak. They embraced the slopes, learning to ski and snowboard, and improving their skills in a setting that combined fun, challenge, and personal growth outsde of the traditional classroom.
The spirit of creativity was on full display at BFA on Wednesday evening, where the BFA Dance Team delivered an impressive performance that captivated their audience. Their hard work, teamwork, and artistry truly shined—congratulations to all involved!
Meanwhile, SATEC’s 6th-grade students, led by Ms. Ely and Ms. Brannon, presented their Seven Wonders of Saint Albans projects to the Maple Run Community. This thoughtful and imaginative effort showcased the students’ appreciation for the unique aspects of our community, inspiring others to see the beauty and wonder around us all each day.
On Friday in Taylor Park, the Wreaths Across America ceremony honored veterans with a moving tribute. The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of remembering and thanking those who have served.
As we continue through December, let’s take a moment to appreciate these moments that highlight the incredible connections within our district. Whether through learning, performing, or honoring our community, these events showcase the joy and purpose that define Maple Run.
Thank you for being an integral part of our community, and let’s carry this energy forward into the holiday season!

Building Connections & Support: A Conversation with Ms. Jarvis and Ms. Bachand
This week on Tap Into Maple Run, we’re excited to welcome two incredible guests who play vital roles in connecting students, families, and the community: Meg Jarvis and Kaeley Bachand, Home to School Coordinators at Saint Albans City School.
Meg Jarvis, the Home to School Coordinator for Grades 5-8, has deep roots in the Saint Albans City School community. As a proud alum of City School and BFA, Meg ventured out of state for college but eventually returned to her hometown to become City School’s PE teacher. Now, in her first year as Home to School Coordinator, she’s bringing her passion for community connection and student well-being to this new and impactful role.
Kaeley Bachand, the Home to School Coordinator for Grades K-4, hails from Northern New York. After college, she moved to Burlington before joining City School 10 years ago. During her time at the school, Kaeley has worn many hats, including Pre-K teacher, kindergarten teacher, and math interventionist. Her wealth of experience has prepared her for this collaborative and student-centered role.
Together, Meg and Kaeley work tirelessly behind the scenes to build trust and provide support for the Maple Run community. Their primary goal is to meet students and families where they are, listening to their needs and connecting them with the incredible resources available in our area. Whether offering a safe space, mental health support, or assistance navigating life’s challenges, they are there to ensure everyone feels heard, supported, and valued.
One of the most inspiring aspects of their work is their shared philosophy: everyone is doing their best, and sometimes we all need a helping hand. Meg and Kaeley are passionate about fostering connections that empower students and families, helping them feel supported and cared for within the City School and the broader Maple Run community.
Tune in to this week’s Tap Into Maple Run to hear Meg and Kaeley share their insights, experiences, and the incredible ways they’re making a difference for our students and families. Don’t miss this inspiring conversation—it’s a reminder of the power of connection and community!
