Welcome Back, Buffaloes!
Pre-K and Kindergarten Play Date Tomorrow!
The PTA will be hosting a Pre-K and Kindergarten Play Date on August 17th from 9-11am at Gatling Gun Park. We hope you can join us!
Our PTA works hard to support our school, engage the community, and help our children thrive. Your membership makes us stronger and is a great way to invest in our children and their future. Join the PTA by going to the link www.joinPTA.org and choose “Austin ISD” and “Timy Baranoff”. You can also follow us at “Baranoff PTA” on facebook. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!
A Quick Thank You
Thank you for your patience as our campus has been under construction. Our main phone line has been down since June and we are hoping to have restoration as soon. If you need anything, please send an email to baranoff@austinisd.org and we will reply as quickly as possible.
Reminder of First Day Procedures
First Day Reminders for Arrival:
Arrival Time: Students may begin arriving at 7:15. Please ensure your child is dropped off no earlier than this time, as staff will not be available for supervision.
Drop-Off Locations:
Car Riders: Please pull into the designated drop-off lane and remain in your vehicle. Staff will assist your child in exiting the car safely.
Walk-Ups: Parents who walk their children to school should escort them to the front entrance. No other doors will be open for arrival.
No Building Entry: To maintain safety and minimize disruptions, parents will not be allowed to enter the building during arrival. Please say your goodbyes outside.
Quick Goodbyes: If your child becomes emotional or starts crying, we kindly ask that you say your goodbyes quickly. Prolonging the farewell often increases anxiety, while a quick exit helps minimize tears and allows your child to adjust more easily. We will have plenty of staff outside to help greet, comfort, and escort your child to class.
School Supplies: As we prepare for the first day of school, we ask that you drop off your child’s school supplies outside the school at the designated area near the entrance. Please make sure all supplies are clearly labeled with your child’s name and their teacher’s name to ensure they are delivered to the correct classroom.
Medication Drop-Off: Our school nurse, Ms. Love, will be outside the entrance collecting medications and handing out medications forms if needed.
Registration & Enrollment: If you need any assistance from the office staff with registration or enrollment, please plan on visiting the office after 7:40 am.
We appreciate your cooperation in making the first day of school a positive experience for all students. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to a wonderful school year!
Parent Student Handbook
Update on Apple Watches
Students will not be able to wear a smartwatch during the day so the focus can be on learning and growing while at school. Please read through the Parent Student Handbook to familiarize yourself with Baranoff policies.
Arrival Update
The front doors will open at 7:15 am. Students who arrive between 7:15-7:30 am can eat breakfast or they will wait in the cafeteria until 7:30 am. At 7:30 am students waiting in the cafeteria will be escorted to class. All doors will close at 7:40 am. Breakfast will be served until 7:40 am.
Due to our new fencing around the entire perimeter, the front entrance will be the ONLY way to access the building. For safety and security, all exterior doors are to remain locked during the school day.
AISD Bus Riders - Children who ride the bus will be dropped off in the back parking lot of the school each morning. Students will sit in their designated seats as outlined by a seating chart. To keep all bus riders and drivers safe, students who become sick will not be transported home on school buses. Parents/guardians will be responsible for transporting these students home.
Walkers
At 7:15 am the front doors will open.
Car Riders
Parents should not enter or park in the front parking lot between 7:00 - 7:45 am. The circle drive should be used for drop off only. Parents/guardians and children should remain in their cars until their door is opened. Please ensure your child is seated on the passenger side of your car to allow your child to easily and safely exit the car.

2024-2025 School Bus Information
It is recommended that families whose students are eligible for General Education transportation to check their bus information by checking the district’s “Bus Stop Finder''. Families whose students have special needs will receive their information in person from their bus teams. *Please keep in mind routes and stops may change periodically.
AISD’s transportation team offers families the “WheresTheBus” app, which provides timely information about the location of their student’s assigned bus only, including when it will arrive at their stop. Please promote the app to your school communities.
The free app is available on any device with internet access (smartphone, tablet, personal computer, iPad)—and takes less than five minutes to install. Instructions are available at https://www.austinisd.org/transportation.

Golden Spoon Sponsors
What is it? The Golden Spoon is an award given to classes that have amazing cafeteria behavior for the month. There will be one class per grade level that wins each month. Students will be able to eat on the stage and win the golden spoon to display in their classrooms. The teacher of the class that wins will get lunch provided by one of our sponsors. There will be 6-7 teachers per month. What do you do? Once the teachers that have won for the month are announced, Ms. Kenworthy will send you an email. You will pick a place to pick up a lite lunch from. Send a price range or list of items for the teachers to choose from. Teachers will submit their orders to Ms. Kenworthy and she will communicate with you. The sponsor picks the day of the week that they will deliver the lunches. All communication regarding the lunches can be sent to micaela.kenworthy@austinisd.org . If you are willing to help provide this treat to our teachers please sign up here.
