My message for last week mysterious didn't save. While I am not sure exactly what I said, I do know that I had a set of reminders for you.

• Please make sure you are checking to see if your child is bringing a coat :) hoodies do not work in 30 degree weather.
• Homework will not be collected next week but I will be sending home new reading logs so that they have them.
• Behavior last week was not good - there were some behavior reminders -----> this week has been absolutely WONDERFUL. The kids have really turned it around!

I really enjoy working with your kids each day and doing special things with them. This week I put together a "Break Out Box" with the help of Mr. Dugas that reviewed geography and algebra concepts! They work in teams to solve the puzzles and break out! It was fantastic!

I am looking to collect 20 of the small postcard size "energy kit" forms. So far there have been 4 sent back. Once we've hit 20 cards collected, our classroom will receive $50!! You get lots of lightbulbs and for free, I might add (see below)!

Homework and the spelling test will resume the week after we return from break! I hope you enjoy your family time and have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Math: Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Unlike Denominators, benchmark fractions, equivalent fractions

Reading: We are finishing The Witches whole group and working on presenting and creating media driven reading responses.

Writing: New spelling words this week. Test Friday. Informational writing.

Science/Social Studies: Ecosystems/Ancient Indian Civilizations. Geography will continue to have a focus as we continue to Mystery Hangout throughout the year.

Hello! I am a 5th grade teacher at Hopkins Elementary. I enjoy spending time with my little family in Hiram, Ohio. I have three children: Ricky (7), Nora (4), and Sean (3). I love my church, road tripping, everything Disney, and creating memories. I have been at Hopkins for 10 years now between 4th and 5th grade. We are going to have a great year!
