A Message From Our Superintendent
Dear GPISD Parents/Guardians and Families,
I hope each of you are having a safe and restful summer break, taking good care of yourselves and your loved ones. This is a great time to schedule fun activities to do together with family, friends, and loved ones, and to catch up on all those things you wanted to do, but didn't have time to enjoy during the school year.
Here in Galena Park I.S.D., we are working to plan a terrific 2021-2022 school year, and look forward to seeing our students back at school on Thursday, August 12. One thing I want to make you aware of is that our plans for the coming school year include a return to standardized dress for elementary and middle school students.
Please be sure to check the GPISD website and social media platforms regularly throughout the summer for district news and updates regarding the 2021-2022 school year.
Be safe,
John C. Moore, Jr., Ed.D.

Free Summer Meals for Children Schedule
This summer, Galena Park Independent School District will be sponsoring the TDA Seamless Summer Option which provides free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 years of age and younger.
Program dates and serving times for each site will vary. Children do not have to sign up for meals; they simply need to come to the school site during serving hours. Regulations require that meals must be eaten at the school site.
For more information about the program contact the GPISD Student Nutrition Department at (832) 386-1211.

State of the District
In the Galena Park I.S.D. State of the District address, we showcase how we are accomplishing our mission to prepare students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners.
Throughout the State of the District video presentation and publication, you will learn about our 'Pathways to Success' wheel, including the seven focus areas that provide an inside look into what District employees implement inside and outside of the classroom to help our students achieve excellence every day.
We hope you enjoy the video presentation and publication.
