Holicong Weekly Update
It's a Beautiful Day at Holicong!

A Message from POPS!
The POPS Power of Positive Students supports the Holicong Giving Tree! This allows our Holicong to sponsor (5+) five Holicong families. The families that will be benefiting from your donation live in our community. The P.O.P.S. kids will put together a basket for each family with candles, chocolates, and cookies that we bake. Caldwell’s in Doylestown has been incredibly generous every year, providing clothing and gifts to the members of each family we sponsor We appreciate how incredibly generous all of you are and that is why I feel confident we will meet the need of these families. Your giving will make a significant difference in the Holiday celebration of these kids and their families.
There are two ways to give:
- For the Giving Tree (located in the Student Services Office) we are going to collect Gift Cards from a select group of stores so that they can add up to something substantial for the families.
Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Wawa and Giant
- MyPaymentsPlus – You can give a monetary donation directly thru the MyPaymentsPlus The Activity is: Holicong 2024 Annual Holiday Drive
All staff, and families are welcome to be involved. If you would like to participate with Gift Cards please send them to the Student Services Office. All cards and donations need to be returned by Wednesday, December 11th so we can get them to our families. If you are looking to get more involved, please reach out to Mrs. Louderback directly at blouderback@cbsd.org.
Thank You for your generosity and care!!! Mrs. Louderback & Mrs. Fox

- Character Counts Lesson - Thank you to our Student Services team for creating an engaging and meaningful learning experience for our students to follow up on our Character Counts presentation last week. Teachers led the activity which included scenarios that put students in real-life situations to see how they would respond. A reminder to us that the "right thing to do and the easy thing to do are often not the same" but showing character and integrity will always be the right decision.
- Winter Concert Series Continues! We are excited to host 2 concerts this week! Tuesday night we have Mrs. Repper and her Orchestra students put on a show for us! And on Thursday night we have the 9th grade Winter Concert - a tradition unlike any other! We encourage all students to come support their peers during the holiday!
- HOLICONG HUDDLE - Please see here for our recap from the fall season at Holicong. A shout out to all of our student-athletes for representing us on and off the field, our parents for supporting our programs, and our coaches for putting in many hours of time to lead these programs!
- WINTER BAND CONCERT - Shout out to the bands and Mr. C for opening up the winter concert season with an amazing show last Thursday!
MySchoolApps - Home Page – Application for Free & Reduced Lunch
Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) (pa.gov) – Link to application and resources to learn more about this program.
COLONIAL CORES & EXPECTATIONS – It was a great first week with students as we reviewed basic overview of expectations, policies, and procedures and following up this week as noted above. We have created the Colonial Core page on our website for our community to access the overview of the Colonial Cores and what we teach and the expectations we have for students and all of us in a variety of settings. We will continue to model and revisit these throughout the year!
FUN with FRIENDS and with PEN students with Mrs. Mandes!

8th GRADE UPDATES
Students in 8th grade American History classes are spending the week investigating a Murder of Revolutionary Proportions. This historical fiction activity, based on 6 individuals of the revolutionary era, requires students to use their investigative skills to untangle a web of lies and deceit to uncover the 1786 murder of Mr. Cadaverous Grey. This historical fiction piece was written by 8th grade teacher Mr. Maigur.
7th GRADE UPDATES

As we approach the end of the year, the Central Bucks School District Education Foundation invites you to consider making a tax-deductible investment in education. Right now, teachers from schools across the district are submitting grants for programs that directly enhance the learning experiences of your children. Your generous donation will help make this a reality. Every contribution, big or small, helps CBSD educators invest in innovative classroom projects and resources. You can choose to make a gift in honor of a special teacher or student, and we will share that acknowledgement with them. To donate, visit https://cbeducationfoundation.org and email Jackie@cbeducationfoundation.org with any questions.
