Principal's Message
Dear Families,
I pray you are enjoying your last month of summer break. It is with great excitement that I write this message of introduction to you as the new Principal of St. Clare of Assisi. I am honored to have the privilege to lead a school with such persevering students, a dedicated staff, and a supportive community. I have felt so fortunate these past few weeks as I have begun to meet parishioners and school families. You all have been so welcoming, and I look forward to continuing to meet everyone in the coming months. I will have a “Principal Meet and Greet” opportunity after all Masses the first weekend in August. I hope you are able to join us! The 2024-2025 school year is around the corner and I cannot wait to help our Stars shine.
Blessings,
Nadia Canino
Principal

Smart Families
We believe in creating a community of excellence on campus, where learning, growth, and safety are top priorities. We want our students to engage fully in the diverse programs we offer, free from unnecessary distractions. The connections students build with their teachers, coaches, and peers are vital for developing the interpersonal skills they're need for success in all areas of life.
We are excited to announce a partnership with Smart Families, an organization dedicated to helping parents and schools create a safer, healthier, and happier environment for our children by building a community that supports fostering closeness and connectedness within families, steering clear of technology traps.
Smart Families provides cutting-edge neuroscience education on the coercive effects of
technology that manipulates our brains and bodies, empowering families to make informed and healthier choices. They emphasize the importance of delaying smartphone use until high school and offer practical advice to help parents and schools change the culture around technology use.
Smart Families aligns with our mission to support our children’s God-given dignity and foster an
environment where they can thrive. Their program encourages families to take a stand against the
pressures of modern technology and focus on building strong, authentic relationships. By doing so,
we can help our students stay connected to their faith and community, reinforcing the values we hold dear.
As a faith-based community, we are committed to helping our students establish healthy habits and
boundaries when it comes to technology. This includes understanding the impact of social media,
critically evaluating online information, and prioritizing real-world relationships with family, friends, and community members. Our society has long regulated the physical world more than the virtual one, and this imbalance has affected the mental health and well-being of our students and families.
We want our students to grow not just academically, but spiritually, developing a closer relationship with God and a better understanding of their God-given potential.
Throughout the school year, we will be hosting educational events for parents, students, and families. These will take place both during the school day and in the evenings. Look for details in our newsletters and join us for monthly online workshops and other learning opportunities.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration in making our school a place where our
students can truly thrive. Let’s work together, with God’s guidance, to make this school year a
fantastic one!
