Message from Mr. Hamacher
Good evening, Liberty Middle School Parents.
The Community Walk-Through at the campus of Liberty Intermediate/Middle School and Liberty Elementary School is Monday, September 16, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Visitors must enter the main entrances at each school. To clarify, this is not an open house where teachers and staff are present. It is simply a chance for the community to see the new/renovated buildings and spaces.
Students have now completed the NWEA Fall Assessment for mathematics and reading. Advisory teachers will be reviewing the scores with students and discussing their progress toward their end-of-year goals. Scores will be available to parents in Skyward in about a week or two.
Our LMS football, volleyball, and cross country teams have all started their seasons and have done well! Clubs are having call-out meetings and also getting going! It's an exciting time of year.
Respectfully,
Mike Hamacher, LMS Principal

Say Something Anonymous Reporting System
Parents & Guardians,
Everyone deserves to feel safe and supported while they are on our campuses every day. The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority -- and requires a proactive approach to violence prevention. That is why the Duneland School Corporation is happy to have the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System.
We will be training our students on when and how to use it on September 10, 2024.
The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System is a research-based violence prevention program offered by Sandy Hook Promise, a national nonprofit organization. It teaches the warning signs of potential violence or self-harm and provides students and staff with secure ways to share safety concerns through a mobile app, website, or phone call.
Simply put, this program will further enhance the student protections we already have in place.
More than 5,000 schools nationwide have launched this program to date. Administrators and school staff report that their students already feel safer—and lives have already been saved.
We have included information about what the app is, how students can use it, and why we have adopted it in our schools below.
Sincerely,
Mr. Hamacher, Principal
