Preparation for New Drive-Thru
We are getting closer to opening the New Drive-Thru. The striping, speed bumps, safety signage, crosswalks, and lane colors are still in the process of being completed. We don't yet have an ETA of completion, but we hope it will be soon.
One notable difference that will occur when the drive-thru opens is that morning and afternoon walk ups will no longer be allowed. All students will need to exit their cars in the morning and all afternoon pick-ups will be through the car line. If your student is not comfortable exiting the vehicle without assistance, please begin practicing these skills with them. This will ensure a safer and quicker arrival and dismissal process.
As we get closer to the opening of the road, we will be providing detailed instructions on our new process. Information will be distributed through school reach, Eagle Mail, Facebook and Homeroom teachers. Stay tuned!
Arrival & Dismissal Drop Off Practices
In preparation of the new drive-thru, please practice these tasks with your students:
- Students should be ready to exit the vehicle when it's your turn.
- Seat belts Unbuckled - (or student should be able to quickly unbuckle themselves)
- Backpacks and other items in laps, ready to step out
- Students need to be able to open and close doors safely
Backpacks should NOT be in the trunk or in the front seat - all items should be with your student.
Child Safety Doors disabled during arrival/ dismissal area
Carpool Survey for Multiple Families AND 4th & 5th Graders with Siblings
When the new drive-thru opens, students' dismissal plans will depend on the grade level that they are in. If you have a child in 4th or 5th grade your child and your child's siblings and/or carpool riders will all go out the same door together. We need to know which students are carpooling so we can get them to the correct pick-up lane.
If you have NOT already done so, please complete the google form below so we can prepare.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED
Substitutes are very important contributors at any school! Our staff experiences life like everyone else - they get sick, their children get sick, weddings, funerals, anniversaries, waiting for the cable guy:))
Substituting is a flexible, part-time job that lets you earn some extra money while getting to know your child's school . Subs are given detailed instructions and assignments for the students to complete during the day.
If you are interested in subbing or you want to learn more, please contact Ms. Wilkins at lwilkins@harmonytx.org
Doodle for Google
Student's were given a Google Doodle form earlier this week. If your child would like to participate, it requires a parent signature. Please return them back to your homeroom teacher by February 28th.
The theme for this year is: My wish for the next 25 years
This year's contest was inspired by Google's recent 25th birthday, and to celebrate we're asking students to think about what the next 25 years might be like! We want them to imagine the future like it's a giant blank playground, waiting for their awesome ideas to bring it to life. What cool things could happen - in their neighborhoods, their schools, their whole world? We're excited to see students' ideas of the future, where no dream is too big or small!
ALEKS Topics Learned Challenge
During the month of February, 3rd - 5th graders will be competing in an ALEKS Topics Learned Challenge!
Here are the things to know!
Each homeroom class will have a goal of 800 topics learned during the month of February.
Topics can be learned at school or at home, so please share the challenge with families and keep them updated on how the class is doing towards the goal!
If (When) a homeroom reaches the 800 mark they will get to vote on a staff member to tape to the wall! :)
Encourage your student to work on ALEKS at home - just 20 minutes!

Donations needed for the Health Aid's Office
Our Health Aide, Ms. Galvan, has a need for underpants/underwear for both boys and girls: sizes small 6-8 & medium 10-12.
We have students who have accidents during the day, and they don't always have a change of clothes. Your generosity will help these students have a better day. Thank you!!

Hello Harmony Cedar Park Mrs. Bernal here!
- You are encouraged to submit free and reduced-price meal applications for your student.
- The state and federal governments use this information to help distribute grants and other forms of funding. If you don’t complete it, your student’s campus could miss some of this funding.

- Let's work together to get additional funding for our students!

REMINDER: Uniform Policy
Hello Soaring Eagle Families!
I wanted to remind you of Harmony Public School's uniform policy. This is not only a school policy but our organization's policy.
If your student comes to school out of uniform, you will receive an email or text regarding the infraction. Please take this winter break to ensure your students have enough uniform tops and bottoms for the new year.
A reminder that jeans are only to be worn on Fridays with a Harmony spirit shirt or college/university shirt. Uniform polos may never be worn with jeans.
**A school reach email went to all Cedar Park families on Dec. 13th from Ms. Bramble. It contains additional information regarding dress code policy.**
