OLSON UIL
It’s that time again! We will begin tryouts for UIL contests on Tuesday, September 24 and Thursday, September 26, 2024. Once we determine who will be participating in each event, we will begin preparing for the contest. For those of you who do not have experience with UIL, here is some additional information. UIL stands for University Interscholastic League, an organization that governs all athletic and academic contests in the state of Texas. UIL academic programs are designed to support basic curriculum and allow students to apply what they learn in the classroom. Students do this by selecting a contest to enter, spend a couple of months practicing the concepts after school under supervision of a coach, and then compete at the district-wide contest on January 11, 2025.

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is a program from the National Center for Fathering, whose purpose is to provide positive male role models for students by being present in education.
Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day during the school year by being helping in the classroom, lunch, recess, specials, at arrival and dismissal, etc. If you were not able to make the kick-off event, a Skyward email was sent with all the necessary information regarding signing up to be a Watch D.O.G.
