PARADISE PROUD
Coin Challenge Winners - Paradise Elementary
Paradise is so proud to be the trophy winners for the 23-24 school year and embodying “Learning without Limits” for a fellow Spring Grove Area student! We are Paradise proud!
Dr. Renault stopped by PES to present the trophy to the student council for raising the most money per student for the Coins for College scholarship fund. Dr. Renault, previous SGASD Superintendent, organized the fund raising campaign that will support a current high school senior as they continue their education in the future.
Second grade was the winner of the Paradise grade level competition! Their reward is a field trip to Farmer's Field. Way to go second grade!

On Friday May 10th students are encouraged to dress up as someone in an occupation of their interest. All clothing and props for the day must be school appropriate (no toy weapons, axes, or cleats). Students will also have the opportunity to learn about different careers from our community members who will be joining us that day. PSSA Dates - 4th Grade Students
The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) testing dates have been finalized for this academic year. Please mark your calendars for the following dates:
- Science (4th Grade only): May 1-2
It's crucial that students are present and prepared for these assessments, as they provide valuable insights into their academic progress and help us tailor our instruction to better meet their needs. Please click the PSSA Paradise Parent button below for more information.
Attendance Information
We are inching towards the end of the school year, so let's finish the year with strong attendance!
- As always, all absences must be submitted via the Sapphire Community Web Portal within 3 school days of the absence.
- Pre-approved excused absences may not be granted during the first ten (10) days and the last ten (10) days of school
- Students who are arriving late to school must be signed in inside the Paradise Elementary office by their parent/guardian.
- It is highly recommended that the parent/guardian email officePES@sgasd.org and/or send a note along to school with their child if he/she is leaving early for an appointment or if he/she is going to be picked up at the end of the school day as opposed to riding the school bus. Parent/Guardian picking their child up for early dismissal MUST bring their license to the office.

Please reach out to our attendance secretary, Mrs. Sarah Thompson, with any questions. thompsos@sgasd.org or 717-225-4731 x 1561.
News from the Nurse
If you are getting ready for spring by cleaning out closets and drawers, please consider donating pants, undergarments and gently worn shoes for both boys and girls in all sizes.
Also, it may be a good idea to send an additional change of clothes in your child's backpack. Your child may be more comfortable in their own clothes if they happen to have an accident or spill something on their clothes while at school.
Please click the button to review information from the school nurse.
Lost and Found
Lost and found items are in the lobby area of the school. If your child is missing their winter coat, jacket, hoodie, winter hat, water bottle, etc. please encourage them to look in the lobby. Any items not claimed by the last day of school will be donated.

Kindergarten Registration/Readiness - 2024-2025
Registration is open for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Please note the minimum age for kindergarten: a child is eligible if he/she turns five (5) years old on or before August 31st of the school year in which he/she seeks admission. Registering early and attending our Readiness Day on Thursday, May 9th will allow you to be added to our mailing/emailing list, considered for free summer learning opportunities and become familiar with Paradise.
The button below will take you directly to the district website to register your incoming kindergarten student. Please share this information with any friends or family living in the Spring Grove School District.
Ongoing communication is important to us. Please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher at any time to discuss your child's success at Paradise. We value our partnership in education.
