Summer Update

Dear HPE Community,

Happy first week of summer! I hope that all of our families had the opportunity to get away and relax over the long weekend. This summer, our staff is already planning and preparing for the 2024/2025 school year. We want to make this the best school year our Hornets have had yet!

If you missed it, please check out a recording of our 5th and 6th Grade musical, "AnnieJr.", directed by our amazing music teacher Mrs. Smith! The students did an amazing job acting and performing. What great voices!

As we close out the 2024 school year, I am completing my fifth year as your Head Hornet and I could not be more proud of the work we have done together! Taking some time to reflect on all that we have accomplished over the last five years reminds me that we have so much to celebrate here at the Park. We have been awarded an A rating from the Arizona Department of Education each year along with our A+ School of Excellence® recognition. Our students, staff and community have participated in HPE traditions like our Daddy/Daughter Dance, our Veteran’s Day Flag Raising ceremony, Whole Hive and Buddy Hive activities, along with some new events that have quickly become family favorites like our Sweet Send-Off and our Polar Picnic. With all of that, we have continued to be a caring community school that supports each student achieving academic and personal success. I can’t wait to see what the next five years will bring!

The Highland Park office will once again be the sight of the GPS Elementary Summer Registration.

Thier office hours are 8:00 am-2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, all summer until Wednesday, July 3th.

We have space available in all of our preschool and kindergarten classrooms! If you have a student or know of a student who is looking for a home, please have them enroll online today!

We have packets available for families to pick up to prepare their student for the rigor of working a grade-level ahead. Please stop by HPE and pick up a packet for your student M-Th, 8:00 am-2:00 pm.

It is very important that all families complete the online ‘Annual Update’ to prepare for the new school year. The ‘Annual Update’ in Infinite Campus allows you to tell us of any updates to your contact information, address changes, and updates to emergency contacts. In order to ensure we can communicate with you regarding your student, or in case of emergency, it is essential that we have your up to date contact details. Please log in to your Infinite Campus parent portal and complete your student’s ‘Annual Update’ today. To access the IC portal visit www.gilbertschools.net/IC

Thank you to our wonderful PTSO and all of our families for your support throughout the school year! Through that support, we were able to purchase new playground equiptment for our school. I can't wait for our Hornets to be able to use them in July!
