UOI: It Matters!
Our new unit of inquiry is an inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment
Central Idea: Objects that take up space and have mass are called matter.
Lines of Inquiry:
- The properties of matter.
- The world is made up of matter.
- Matter can change from one state to another.

Fun Math Practice at Home:
This week, students were introduced to a new math website called Prodigy. Some of them have been asking to play at home, so the link below should allow you to set up a free parent account so they can play :) I will put their existing username and password in their folder so they can pick up where they left off in class.
Big Sky Broadway Enrollment Opens Monday, February 22
Big Sky Broadway opens enrollment for its 14th season on Monday, January 22nd at
8 :00 and closes on Tuesday, January 23rd at 5:00. If your child is interested, log on to bigskybroadway.com and see the shows we are producing. Scholarships are available and tuition payment required until March.
The one week program (June 17-22) is for kids currently in Kindergarten through kids currently in fourth grade.
The two-week program (June 3-15) is for kids currently in fifth grade through kids currently in 8th grade.
If a kid has an older sibling or a schedule conflict, I will allow current fourth graders into the two week program, although they should know this means they lose their chance at being the oldest (and having seniority for parts) in the one week show.
