News & Information
Closet Clean-out for a Cause
MT! You've been amazing helping us supply our Student Rewards Store from our Amazon Wish List. As we all start our holiday preparations, if you find any fun items at the back of your closets that could use a second life, consider donating them to the Student Rewards Store! For example - fidgets, Halloween candy, small toys, old MT or Mill Valley T-shirts (the kids LOVE these)! Just send items in with your student and have them bring to the office marked for the student store. Thanks for your support and donations throughout the year!
Schedule Change Requests
Second semester change request forms will be available in the front office beginning Tuesday, December 3rd and are due on Friday, December 6th. Forms must be signed by a parent/guardian.

Thanksgiving Cereal Drive
During the month of November, student council is sponsoring a cereal box drive for the De Soto Food Pantry in the spirit of Thanksgiving. As you drop off your cereal boxes in the morning, on the stage in the commons, you can enter your name in a drawing. At our next pep assembly, we will set the cereal boxes up domino-style, and one lucky winner whose name is drawn will get to push the first box and start the chain. You get to enter your name in the drawing for every box you bring in — one box equals one entry, two boxes two entries, and so on. Let's have fun and support a good cause!
More than 20 students from MT Student Council volunteered at Clear Creek Elementary School last Saturday for their Winter Wonderland Event.
We're so proud of our MT student volunteers for how much they help our community!
Good Things at MTMS
A new addition to our Coding class are Micro:bits! They were deployed for the first time this week during the new physical computing unit.
Students learned to display words and emojis on the 25 LED lights on the Micro:bits. The students were a bit intimidated by Mr. Watts' contract that they had to sign to use them, which pretty much said, "you break it, you buy it."
Who says Math isn't any fun?
Students in 6th grade math got to work around the building today to practice solving percent problems. Using percent proportions, they are able to find part/whole/percent and calculate tax/tip/discount amounts while collaborating with their peers.
Stay up to date! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and our website! Email MTMS.pta.wolves@gmail.com with questions or to find out how to get involved.
Important Dates:
Thanksgiving Pies!!
We could still use some help with the staff Thanksgiving pies/treats. If you would like to help, follow the link below. We could also use some parent volunteers to receive pies in the car loop line. Thank you for keeping this tradition going!

"Just Give It" Fundraising Campaign
We are incredibly grateful to the families at MT! Thanks to your support, we successfully raised an impressive total of $11,969 in our fundraising campaign. As a fun reward for the students, they’ve earned the chance to silly string a teacher at an upcoming assembly. These funds will make a significant impact at MT. Thank you once again for your generosity!

Hearing and Vision Screenings 7th Grade
7th grade students will have their hearing and vision tested during their PE class during November/December. Those students who have PE 1st semester will be screened beginning on Monday. Those students who have PE 2nd semester will be screened in January/February. Students who are screened will be given a letter with the results to take home to parents. Please check with your student for letter. You can also view results in Skyward under the Health tab, change display option to Show Tests. If you have questions please contact the school nurse. If your student failed the screening you will also receive an e-mail.
Illness
Please report any symptoms of illness to the school. Please be specific- report symptoms such as sore throat, nausea, and fever instead of reporting “ill” or “sick”. Giving symptoms helps with Health Department Reporting and to see illness trends in the district.
It is district policy to keep your student home until symptom free/fever free for 24 hours without medication. It will help to prevent the spread of illness.
