Dear Hawthorn Families,
We are writing to inform you that our schools are currently in a soft lockdown as advised by the Vernon Hills Police Department due to police activity in the area. This measure is out of an abundance of caution, and is taken to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
In a soft lockdown:
All exterior school doors remain locked.
No entry or exit is allowed.
Students, teachers, and staff continue typical indoor learning activities.
Please do not attempt to pick up your child(ren) at this time.
We will provide an update and lift the soft lockdown once we have been advised by law enforcement that it is safe to do so.
Thank you for your cooperation. The safety and education of our students are our utmost priorities, and we are committed to keeping you informed about any developments.
