April 2024 Newsletter

May 2024
Dear North Point Middle School Families,
It's official, we have made it to the last month of the 23-24 school year. Just four weeks stand between us and the last day of school. There is still time to make a positive difference in fourth quarter grades. Please make sure that you are checking SIS regularly and having conversations with your child about homework and upcoming projects and tests.
MAP testing will start next week at NPMS. Here are the planned days of testing:
6th Grade-
May 7 ELA
May 8 ELA
May 14 Math
May 15 Math
7th Grade-
May 9 ELA
May 16 Math
8th Grade-
May 7 ELA
May 9 Science
May 15 Math and Algebra 1 EOC
Students will all need their charged Chromebook, wired headphones, and a book to read for MAP testing days. Cell phones and smart watches will be turned off and placed in backpacks for testing periods. This is another great opportunity for our students to show what they know and we can't wait to get their results.
Any efforts that you can make to avoid your child being absent on any testing dates helps us by not having to pull them from class to make up these assessments.
The final exam window will run from Thursday, May 23, through Thursday, May 30. Specific information will come from your child's teachers in the upcoming days.
If you have a student returning to NPMS next year, please make sure to save the date for Thursday, August 8, from 3:00- 6:00 PM for Walk About Day. More details about this event will be sent this summer.
As always, let us know what we can do to support you and your child.
It's a great day to be a Grizzly.

Important Calendar Change for 2023-2024
We're excited to have some flexibility in our calendar that allows us to move up our last day of school for all students this year. View the updated Academic Calendar on the district website. Read more.
Grizzly Of the Month
Congratulations to the North Point Middle Grizzly of the Month May recipients. The “Grizzly of the Month” award winners represent the outstanding qualities and excellent characteristics of our entire student population.
Extra Yearbooks For Sale
There will be extra yearbooks on sale in the main office beginning May 28. The cost is $35 cash only, and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.
St. Charles County Library Partnership
St. Charles County public school district students have automatic access to library materials and online resources through the St. Charles County Library. This year, our families were provided the opportunity to opt out of this automatic access when completing annual forms at the beginning of the year. If desired, parents may opt out by working with their school librarian mid-year.
2024-2025 School Supply Lists
School supply lists for the 2024-2025 school year will be created by teams and we will share those the day that the schedules go live in the portal.

Chromebook Insurance
All families have the option to purchase Chromebook insurance annually for each child in grade 6-12.
You have the option to purchase this online with RevTrak/Vanco, our Online Payment website. This is a feature for families to pay online rather than sending in money for the optional insurance fee ($20). This is for grades 6-12.
To access the WSD Online Store, families will need to visit wsdr4.revtrak.net and select their level, school, student, and Technology.
You also have the option of bringing in cash or a check to the Main Office.
News from the Nurse
Medications at School
Does your student take over-the-counter or prescription medication? If so, get updated medication orders from their physician that include the name of the student, name of drug, dosage, frequency of administration, route of administration, and the prescriber's name. Drop both the physician orders and medication off at your child’s school for the nurse prior to the start of school.
- Medication drop-off must be done by appointment only. Please contact the nurse directly. Her information is provided below.
- Parents are required to bring medication to school in properly labeled prescription bottles.
New MSHSAA Physical Form
- All athletes must have a physical completed and turned in prior to the first day of practice. Make an appointment for your child’s sports physical.
- MSHSAA has a new form for this school year. Click here to view the updated form.
