PICTURES & NEWS
IMAGINATION 1ST GRADE READING INSTRUCTION
Students brought out their reading work books, perused the table of contents, and then went to a chapter in the middle of the book for a read-along lesson with Ms. Bachand. After each section of the chapter, Ms. Bachand let individual students take turns pointing out some of the special things they noticed about the words they had covered in that section. The students were excited to demonstrate their reading skills and knowledge. A few snack time pictures are included in the batch.
MAKING CIDER STORY
Last month, four Triumph students (two 5th graders and two sixth graders) paired with Mr. Deslauriers and Mr. Hoben to bring the process of making apple cider to our youngest students. The learning experience of these four students, and the Pre-K and Kindergarten students they worked with, are documented in a three minute video linked below. The video showcases their maturity and their communication skills.
IT IS VOTING TIME IN THE 4-6 LEARNING COMMUNITIES
Students are learning about how our democracy works as they go about the business of selecting a president, vice president and a 4th grade representative. Campaigns have to be organized within the communities and posters created. Votes have to be collected and tabulated. Once the leaders have been selected, they will represent the interests of the student body on their team and within the school. Check out these rhyming posters created by candidates from the Voyagers Learning Commuinity.
