Happy Leap Week!
Dear Families and Community,
We have one more week in our Kindness Campaign, and we will be celebrating the culmination on Friday, March 1st with some school-wide game time! Students and staff have been sharing feedback that they'd like to do more mixing and mingling across grade levels, so we're going to try something new. Most of the day will be normal, but we will shorten our specials schedule during the day so that there is a chunk of time at the end of the day for students to play games with kids in different grade levels. (Students already have designated buddy classes, but we are going to mix it up even further with this event.) If your student has an easy-to-play beloved game s/he would like to bring on Friday, please feel free to send it! No electronics, please.
I would personally like to thank our 5th grade Leadership Team for their amazing work during the Kindness Campaign. Their ideas and school spirit have brought so much energy and enthusiasm to our building. During this final week, kids will be decorating shoes with personal art and kindness messages for the final theme, Step up for Kindness. And don't forget this Friday's Spirit Day: Silly or Mismatched Sock Day!
My best,
Wendy ❤️

BSD Math Placement Testing for 5th Grade Families
About 9 out of 10 BSD students will be enrolled in “Math 6/7” for math next year. If you would like your student evaluated to determine whether “Math 7/8" or “Alg/Geo/Stats 1” would be appropriate instead, please see the BSD Math Placement Testing site to request testing.
All testing will take place in May at your student’s school during their school day. There will be no testing for current students after May. If you have any questions, please refer to the FAQ on the BSD Math Placement Testing site.

Great news! Our BEF Project has been funded!
Our BEF matching grant, which will provide light covers and multiple sets of noise-reducing headphones, has been funded! We partnered with Beaverton Education Foundation to raise money for these items, and once we reached $500 in donations, it was doubled with a match from BEF.
We are so grateful to our generous Terra Linda community, as well as the Beaverton Education Foundation, for this opportunity to provide a more calming atmosphere and create a better learning environment for all. Thank you!
