A note from the Admin
Another great week at Marlowe of learning and after school activities! This week we celebrated National School Custodian's Day. Thank you to those custodians in our building who keep the building clean, safe, and repair those things that need it.
ABCDE Recognition opportunity
Marlowe will be starting an opportunity to nominate and recognize the staff at Marlowe. An ABCDE award is awarded to a staff member at Marlowe who goes Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Everyday. The purpose of this award is to give students and parents a way to recognize some of the great staff members who make a difference in a student's life. These areas are aligned with our District Mission: Our learning community will inspire, challenge and empower all students always. Please consider completing this google form nomination linked here. Staff who are nominating will receive a certificate along with a small token of appreciation from the Marlowe admin team.

National School Lunch Week: October 14-18, 2024
Special Education Talks: Transition to Adult Services: Transition Planning 101
Oct. 16, 6:00-7:30 PM at District Office Rm 180
As part of our ongoing learning series for parents/guardians on planning for their student’s future, our Special Education Talk for October will feature a presentation focused on partnering with transition planning for life after high school. Transition planning is supporting students with IEPs to plan for their future. Supporting your child as they prepare for their future can be an overwhelming task. Whether your child with an IEP is considering college, specific career training or employment. What questions should be considered as you coach them in the process? What experiences should be pursued to move towards goals? What is your role as a parent on the transition team? The focus will be on options, strategies and resources as you guide your teen toward independent adulthood.
Registration is not required, but is strongly encouraged. Please use this link to register.
This event will be recorded for future access and for those unable to attend. If you require any special accommodations or require a translator for this event, please contact Kelly LaTour at klatour@district158.org.
Recycle for Sight Used Eyeglass Collection Drive
Huntley School District 158 and the Huntley Area Lions Club are excited to partner together again for the 2nd Annual Recycle for Sight Used Eyeglass Collection Drive.
How can you help? Look through dresser drawers and closets for prescription eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, reading eyeglasses, empty plastic and metal eyeglass frames that are no longer of use to you and donate them. Don’t forget to ask friends, neighbors, and relatives to participate for a great cause!
Donation boxes will be available at all District 158 schools and the Administration Office from Monday, October 21 thru Friday, October 25.
Donated eyeglasses are taken to the Lions of Illinois Foundation where they are cleaned, sorted by prescription and distributed by trained volunteers, free of charge, to children and adults in developing countries.
More information will be provided next month. So for now, let the search begin!
