MINI MAVERICK MESSENGER

The Mini Maverick Messenger is our monthly PTA newsletter for our wonderful Ogle families filled with upcoming events, fundraisers, photos, volunteer opportunities, & other information from your PTA. You can always find a copy of the newsletter on our PTA website at https://www.ogleelempta.com/.

The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun and exciting way for students to get active while learning about heart health and to raise fund to protect all hearts! Hosted by the American Heart Association, this program not only encourages kids to discover ways to take care of our hearts and brains while practicing kindness, gratitude and learning to ways to de-stress but also support a great cause! Plus, Ogle will have the chance to earn PE equipment for our school!

We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming PTA Membership Meeting, followed by a family-friendly Multicultural Night!

At the meeting, we'll form the Nominating Committee to review PTA Board positions for the upcoming school year—your input and support are always valued! This is a key part of how we keep the PTA running smoothly and ensure we have passionate people in leadership roles. Your voice matters!

Important Reminder: Attending the meeting is not required to join the PTA. Your yearly membership helps fund events for our students, teachers, and families. PTA meetings are voluntary, and we always appreciate your involvement, no matter how big or small.

We hope you’ll join us to help shape the future of our PTA and enjoy Multicultural Night afterward! It's a wonderful way to meet other parents and connect with the school community!

We love our Ogle community and how everyone came together to win the 100 Days of School giveaway from SignGypsies McKinney/East Frisco! We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this to make this day special for the kids.

For February, our PTA is excited to recognize Erin Strouble! You all may recognize Erin as she is our PTA President, and is involved in every aspect of PTA and volunteering. Erin hosts our monthly PTA meetings, shows up to practically every school event to assist, and keeps everyone up to date with information. Erin cares deeply for the teachers and staff at Ogle, and really makes that known by taking the time to talk and get to know them. She is always there to lend a hand when needed around the school, and even brings all the teachers PIZZA as a thank you. She is a very kind, thoughtful, and giving person who always thinks of others first. In addition to working full time and leading the PTA, Erin is a wonderful mother to her daughter, Avery. Avery is in the 4th grade, and she will sadly be graduating Ogle this year. We will miss Erin tremendously and are so appreciative to have her as our amazing leader this school year! Thank you again, Erin for everything you do.

Frisco ISD Board Policy requires that each volunteer undergo a background check before working with students. You will be prompted to complete the background check during your Voly account creation. Keep an eye on your inbox for your background check approval (the process can take up to 3-5 business days.) If you signed up previously, please note that a new background check must be completed each school year as required by Frisco ISD!

Click on the volunteer opportunities below to see them in Voly (our volunteer management system,) along with date/times needed. You must be logged into Voly to sign up for these volunteer opportunities.

1. Work Room Volunteers: Support our teachers by helping with lamination, cutting, sorting, stapling, etc. *All materials provided and younger siblings are welcome to join*

2. Watch D.O.G.S. (any male figure (or female!)): Spend the day on campus volunteering with your student & helping in your child's classroom

3. Mav Money Store Volunteers: Help run the MAV MONEY store during students' lunches

4. Picture Day Volunteers (Tues., 2/18): Assist in getting students to and from camera stations and ensuring they are picture day ready
