Holiday Assistance
Haslett Community Church conducts a program for families with children who are in need of assistance during the holidays. Through local community support, the program offers gifts (mostly clothing) for children and food for a holiday meal for requesting families.
This information has recently come home from the schools. Completed request forms should be returned to your child's school no later than October 18, 2024. If you are in need of the request form please contact your school office or Mrs. Silvestri at the Haslett Administration Office. We will not release your name to Haslett Community Church without your permission. All participants must be residents of the Haslett School District or have students enrolled in Haslett Public Schools.
Enhancing Communication
You may have seen a crane behind our bus garage this week. As part of our district’s ongoing efforts to improve safety and security, we've relocated our district radio antenna from a cellular tower in Okemos to an unused tower on our bus lot. While it may not be the most glamorous news, this upgrade significantly boosts our transportation and emergency communication capabilities.
The new antenna location improves signal coverage and reliability across the district. This means fewer instances of interference and more consistent communication, whether it’s day-to-day operations or emergency situations. This move ensures our transportation department can stay in constant contact, keeping buses on schedule and responding effectively, even during emergencies.
This upgrade is one of many steps we’re taking to create a safer, more secure environment for students and staff. To learn more about past initiatives we’ve taken to enhance safety and security across the district, visit our Safety and Security Overview page.
