Greetings Raney Knight Families,
"What is your 'E'? Will you Enlist in one of the Armed Forces? Will you Enroll in a college, university, or trade school? Will you be ready for Employment/Entrepreneurship?"
These are the questions that we have been asking our Raney Knights all year and especially during College and Career Week. We want them to start planning TODAY to make their dreams come true.
Throughout the year we will have more information and host different events to help our students start thinking about their future. One of those events is the Career Expo that we are hosting on December 4th. If you would like to participate by hosting a table and providing information on a career, please see the flyer below.
Bullying Awareness Month and Cyber-Safety
As we close out October, we wanted to bring these two important month-long initiatives to mind and also to remind you of how they can impact your family. Please reflect on some of the tips regarding Bullying Awareness Month and Cyber-Safety outlined below.
Check your student's Instagram to see what accounts they own and who they follow.
Fake Raney accounts are illegal and can have serious consequences.
Social media sites often allow participation for 13-year-olds, but some experts advise that your teen shouldn’t use sites like Instagram or Snapchat until at least 16. Set your own age limit and enforce it.
Ask yourself:
Is your child ready to block and report inappropriate messages?
Can they reject inappropriate content?
Is there a risk of cyber-bullying?
Is there a risk of real-life victimization due to geotagging (finding out where you live)?
Young people need emotional skills to navigate some apps. By setting an age for access, you’re ensuring they’ll have reached some maturity milestones before they’re exposed to a situation they can’t handle. Like getting their first car, make opening social media accounts a milestone that your child can look forward to achieving.
Volunteers
We have had many field trips already this school year and have MANY more planned for this year. Please keep an eye out for communication from the school or staff members as we regularly need volunteers to help chaperone on field trips or special events on campus. You will need to fill out the District Volunteer Form.
Costume, Characters and School Spirit Days
It is traditional at Raney for many of our students and staff to enjoy the event by wearing costumes. If your student chooses to wear a costume to our Fright Night event, October 25th, or on Halloween, all costumes need to be school appropriate, in good taste, and in line with school dress code. We also do not allow full face masks or any toy weapons. This year we are encouraging everyone on campus support our AVID theme and Dress Like A Minion for our 10/31/24 School Spirit Day. We look forward to a spirited, safe, and fun experience.

Scholar Athletes
We want to recognize our Basketball Scholar Athletes for the 2024-2025 School Year. We are so proud of the dedication, time, and effort our students put into becoming a team and representing our school on the basketball court.
Scholar Athletes first ensure that their learning and grades are in good standing and secondly give it their physical best individually and as a team. We cannot be more proud of our teams and look forward to seeing how they will excel in the future.
We are looking forward to our Cross Country and Track & Field Teams forming and starting to practice. Charge on, Knights!
Thank you for staying connected and being our partners to create a legendary experience for all.

All members serve two-year terms. The public is welcomed to attend on the above dates.

Drop Off and Pick Up
Due to construction, our drop off and pick up will be different from last year. The gate by the Cafeteria Driveway will be closed to student access for the entire year.
All students can be dropped off and picked up next to the Solar-Panels Parking Lot. Please follow attached diagram. Enter through the driveway and loop around to the student Drop Off Area.
Bike Riders have a new gated area to lock their bicycles towards the back of the Solar-Panel Parking Lot. Students are to get off their bike and walk it in once they arrive onto school property.
The front parking lot is for busses and permitted cars only. Please do not drop students off in this parking lot.
For student safety and well being, we discourage students from being dropped off or picked up at Lincoln Park where there is no student supervision.
Morning Drop-off and Afternoon Pick-up
Have you noticed our new signs in the parking lot to help with the flow of traffic? Please pull forward to the orange cones and do not stop directly in front of the gate for students to exit or enter. This allows us to have more students exit or enter their cars at one time and keep the cars moving.
Daily Raney Schedule
Gates open at 7:30 a.m. Please arrive at school by 7:30 a.m. so that you will not be late to your first period class. Our EARLY OUT DAY is EVERY WEDNESDAY and begins on August 21.
