Information for Families
KickStart to Career
Hi Families,
As a reminder, every student received a KickStart to Career savings account when they started kindergarten. This program continues until graduation, and the funds can be used for educational or career-related expenses. Watch this short video for a quick refresher on KickStart to Career.
OV Spectator Guidelines
Please review our Spectator Guidelines with your children before attending sporting events and other special events.
Parent Pick Up/ Drop Off Reminders
We are having issues with the west lot getting backed up in the morning because we have 4th and 5th Graders being dropped off in the west lot. The west lot is for 2nd and 3rd graders. The front lot is for 4th and 5th graders. Using the correct lots will ensure that lines are not as long and will move more efficiently.
In the west lot, we have major safety concerns with families not using the crosswalk. This is not safe for our kids and it also slows down the pick up line because people are stopping to let others cross where they shouldn't.
The west lot is also getting backed up at the end of the day. This can be prevented by turning right only at the exit.
Conduct on School Property
Please review the poster below.
We are here to work collaboratively to provide a safe, nurturing school for your children. We are happy to meet with you regarding any concerns you may have. We do ask that you follow the expectations outlined below, or you will be asked to leave and schedule a time to meet with us later.
Thank you for your assistance with this.
Sincerely,
The Cardinal Elementary Office, Teachers, and Staff

Attendance
Being at School Each Day is Critical
Cardinal Elementary participates in Operation Graduation.
To recognize good attendance, we recognize our top 5 classrooms for attendance in our weekly newsletter and on our CNN News.
We also have "Donut Miss School" pop-ups where a number is called and students assigned that number are rewarded for being at school and on time by our Donut Fairies.
Students with monthly perfect attendance are recognized on our perfect attendance bulletin board, during SOAR assemblies, and are rewarded by our Pathways to Potential coaches.
Students with perfect attendance for the year receive a certificate and prizes.
Let's work together to ensure kids are in school learning every day!
