What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
Dear OMS families,
As we reflect during this week of Thanksgiving, we have many things to be grateful for. Our students and staff members continue to be "mostly" healthy, we have found new ways to connect and engage our students, we have the MOST supportive parent community, and 2021 is just around the corner!
In all honesty, as difficult as this school year is, OLIVE-US at the nest are thankful for you and your children. Thank you for trusting us to teach them and keep them safe.
Thank you for the heartfelt gifts, flowers, cups of Starbucks, gift cards, and most importantly your notes and emails letting us know that you support us and all that we are doing. It is these little things that keep us going and remind us every day what a wonderful community we are a part of.
If you haven't taken a moment to fill out our "Recognize A Staff Member" form linked at the bottom of the Branch, we encourage you to do so. It really does make our day to get notes of thanks and encouragement.
From our nest to yours, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. We hope you find time to relax, unplug, turn off those devices, and enjoy family time.
In continued collaboration,
Erin, Julia, and the OMS Staff
Eyeglasses Donations
The season of giving is upon us…Do you have a drawer full of used eyeglasses, sunglasses, and readers that you no longer need? If so please consider donating to help others less fortunate than us! Hi, I am Griffin C., currently a Junior at Hersey High School and a graduate of Olive and Thomas Middle School. From November 17th thru December 17th, I will be collecting eyeglasses to donate to the Lions Club to benefit people all around the world with vision issues. A collection box will be set up at Thomas Middle School. There will also be a collection box on my front porch at 1020 N. Mitchell Avenue or I can pick up from your home. Please email me directly with questions or to schedule a pickup. Thank you! My email is: gcates2065@stu.d214.org.
