Weekly Raider
Dear Red Rock Families,
We enjoyed having all of our students' Grandparents join our PBIS assembly and joining us in celebrating our ROCK students and perfect attendance for August winners. Thank you to all of our special performances! Thank you PTO for creating a wonderful breakfast for all of our grandparents to enjoy with their grandchildren. We appreciate you all!
Have a great week!

9/11 Education Day
Red Rock Elementary School will be coming together for a schoolwide assembly to recognize this day in history. Your child's teacher will be delivering an age-appropriate lesson on this day.
Food Allergies & Treats
Important Notice for Our School Families:
Please help us maintain a safe environment by refraining from sending any nut or peanut products to school with your child for snacks and treats. This also includes any snacks or treats made in a facility with peanuts/tree nuts. Please review the ingredients label for “May contain peanuts/tree nuts” and/or “this product was produced in a facility that has peanuts/tree nuts.” We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the school office for more clarification. If we feel there is a concern for the safety of food allergies, the food item will be sent back home. Fry's offers cupcakes that meet this criteria.
If your child has any food allergies, please contact the school health office to create a Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan (FARE). We will also determine if your child will need a designated area to eat lunch each day. Your child’s safety is our top priority.
Positivity Project (P2)
This week, our school will focus on the character strength of Creativity. Creativity means coming up with new and original ways to think about and do things.
Creative people see the world differently. They are open to new experiences and think independently. They come up with many ideas and pursue them with energy and enthusiasm. Creativity takes courage because sharing original ideas can sometimes lead to criticism.
Creativity is vital to our world! Creative solutions can help resolve conflicts and find compromises that satisfy everyone involved, strengthening relationships. It helps us solve tough problems, create new things, and see the world in fresh ways. Examples include treatments for deadly illnesses, such as cancer, the invention of the cell phone, and the development of solar panels. Imagine life without Impressionist paintings or the creation of airplanes and rocket ships.
To encourage creativity with your child at home, visit the Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families. There, you can watch a video, read a quote, and discuss three questions together.
Thank you for your continued support!

Parent Pickup/Drop off Procedures
In order to keep our students and staff safe during parent pickup and drop off, please follow these expectations:
- When arriving through the loop, pull your car all the way to the cone so we can get more students loaded and unloaded during the least amount of time.
- Do not get out of your vehicle when in the parent loop. You must park in the parking lot and use the crosswalk if you plan to get out of your car.
- Students may only enter in on the right side of the parent loop for safety.
- Parents and students are must use the crosswalk when crossing in the parking lot.
- If you are parking and walking to the front of the school to pick up your child, you must wait in the rock area, we need the sidewalk for students to get to their cars.

iReady
Students have been completing their reading and math diagnostic on iReady. Once their diagnostic is completed, students will receive lessons in their iReady dashboards under their My Path, which are specific lessons that were identified that your child needs more support in. We ask that students complete 40 minutes a week in math, and 40 minutes a week in reading, to fill in any gaps they may have. There are opportunities to complete this in class, but if you have a device at home, students may also get additional lessons completed at home.
Please contact your child's teacher if you would like your child to complete these lessons at home and you need their login information.
