College Counseling Workshop at AG Campus
We are excited to invite you to a special college counseling workshop titled “Faith as an Admissions Ticket: How Islamic Values Shape College Success,” featuring Br. Hamzah Henshaw. This event is designed for high school students and parents and is open to the entire community. Middle school parents are also welcome to join.
Event Details:
• Date: September 24
• Time: 6:00 PM
• Location: BHA AG Campus
About the Workshop:
Br. Hamzah Henshaw will share how Islamic values can shape the college admissions process, helping students achieve both academic and spiritual success. With over 20 years of experience, Br. Hamzah has helped place hundreds of Muslim teenagers into top American universities.
About the Speaker:
Br. Hamzah Henshaw was born and raised in Boston and became Muslim at the age of 15. He graduated from Harvard in 2001 and has spent the past 20 years in the field of education in the Middle East, North Africa, and the United States. For more than a decade, he worked at Al-Noor Academy, New England’s first full-time K-12 Islamic school. There, he helped place hundreds of Muslim teenagers into many top American universities.
He founded Five Before College in 2023 to bring his expertise in college placement to the ummah as a whole. He helps Muslim teenagers navigate the US college application process while maintaining their Islamic identity. FBC emphasizes the importance of starting early—five years before college—and uses the Five Before Five hadith as a framework for developing well-rounded Muslim teenagers who will become exceptional college candidates and pave their way to success in this life and the next.

🚀 Get Ready for the Future: BHA's First Lower Elementary Robotics Club! 🤖
We are thrilled to announce the launch of BHA's very first Lower Elementary Robotics Club! In this exciting club, students will have the unique opportunity to become part of an international robotics league—the FIRST LEGO League Jr. (FLL) division.
Each year, the FLL challenges teams with a new theme that addresses real-world problems. As a part of the club, our students will research the year’s theme, explore global issues related to it, and work together as a team to come up with innovative solutions. Not only will they get to present their ideas to judges, but they will also develop and practice oral presentation skills to showcase their hard work.
But that’s not all—students will also get hands-on experience building and programming LEGO robotics models to bring their innovative solutions to life!
For this year, we are planning to start two teams:
- One team for KG-1st grade
- One team for 2nd-3rd grade
Each team will have a maximum of 8 members.
If you have any questions, please email the elementary robotics mentor, Ms. Iqra, at: iqra.fatima@issdweb.org.
We’re excited to watch our young innovators grow as they develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork in a fun, competitive environment. Stay tuned for more information about meeting times and how to join!
Let’s gear up for an amazing robotics adventure!
Elevating Our Soccer Program with Coach Mohamed Noor!
We are thrilled to share some exciting news about our soccer program! This year, we are aiming to elevate our soccer curriculum by preparing our students for higher-level skills and competitive play. To help us achieve this goal, we are pleased to announce that Coach Mohamed Noor will be joining us to take our soccer program to the next level.
Coach Mohamed Noor is a highly experienced soccer coach and scout with a USA D License. He currently serves as the Head Scout for DC United Soccer Club and Top Ballers Training. Mohamed is also the Director of Soccer at Dehesa Method Sports Academy, where he oversees coach development and player progress.
We are excited about the potential impact Coach Noor will have on our students, from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Practices for Kindergarten through 3rd grade will be held at Lindbergh Park, while 4th through 8th graders will practice at AG Campus and occasionally at the park uphill. The specific days for practices will be finalized soon.
To finalize details with Coach Noor and ensure the best possible experience for our students, we are now gauging interest. We encourage all interested families from KG through 8th grade to register using the link below. CC Campus: Theme of the Month- Respect
During the recent assembly, the QIAS teachers highlighted the importance of respect, beginning with self-respect. They explained that self-respect involves following the rules set by teachers, staff, and parents, and that respecting oneself and others helps to create a positive environment for learning and personal growth.
To emphasize this, the teachers shared a hadith from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about the value of treating others with kindness and dignity. The hadith reads:
"None of you will truly believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself."
(Related by Bukhari and Muslim)
Additionally, the assembly featured a video on social-emotional learning to further engage the students. This video helped students understand their emotions, build empathy, and develop positive social skills—all essential aspects of fostering respect for themselves and others.
