PCS Weekly News | Sept 26, 2024
September 26, 2024
Dear PCS Families,
Thank you for your continued support with Pikmykid and for your patience as we navigate being short-staffed in the front office. I want to extend a special thank you to Sherry Jackson and Nick Vang for taking on extra duties until the position is filled. Iโd also like to thank the substitutes who have stepped in to support. We are actively working to fill the office position.
Regarding Pikmykid, the geofence is working, but we still need to manually enter the student number at this time. Please have your student's number available. It works best if itโs displayed on your dashboard. You can even make your own sign with just the number on it. Having the number visible helps us move traffic through the line faster.
Kindly,
Kristen
Students 8th grade and younger must be accompanied by an adult!
AND that adult must stay and monitor those students at the Homecoming Football Game. Students and parents who don't follow these expectations will be subject to loss of entry to future RAHS events.
Attendance Matters | Getting to School On Time Matters
Parkview School Day | ๐ 7:35 AM - 2:00 PM
As you know, students need to be in school every day on time unless there is an acceptable excuse. Students may enter the building at 7:15 AM and must be in their classrooms by 7:35 AM. Students who are not in their classrooms by this time are considered tardy. Regular, on-time attendance is important for school success.
๐ A school Attendance Success Plan can be created to help improve attendance.๐
Some acceptable reasons (excused) for being absent or tardy are:
- Illness
- Doctorโs visit
- Religious holiday
- Extreme family emergencies (such as death in the family, house fire, etc.)
Some unacceptable reasons (unexcused) for being absent or tardy are:
- Staying home to baby-sit
- Oversleeping
- Missed the bus
- A child is needed at home
- Student is absent, and there was no communication to school
Thank you for all you do to support getting your child to school each day. We want to be sure that here at Parkview, we are doing our part to encourage positive attendance!

7/8 Updates
๐ข Families, we need your help! ๐ฑ
Your studentโs school-issued iPad should go home every evening for completing homework and checking grades. Please help set them up for success by:
๐ Charging the iPad every night.
๐ Establishing a routine of packing it in their backpack at night, and keeping it at a designated spot, so it doesn't get forgotten during the morning rush.
Parts of the school day can be more difficult when a student does not have their iPad at school. We appreciate your support!
๐ข You can now view your studentโs 2024 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) Individual Student Report in Synergy ParentVue.
