This Sunday marks the first week of Advent - a time to anticipate the coming of Christ. Christ brings joy, comfort, and peace to our hearts and mind. We can be reminded of this as we watch our students and those who love Christmas be so full of glee and joy as they give and receive gifts, as they sing Christmas concert songs, as they help us decorate cookies and our homes.

This week we have the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Bishop Matano will be here to preside this Mass. Our student choir has been preparing, as well as, our student readers and servers.

I was in Kindergarten the other day and the excitement they had talking about their Advent calendars and they were not just talking about the candy behind the door. Most were talking about the excitement about the anticipation of opening the last door or coloring/placing the last piece to create e a beautiful scene and that meant it was the day Jesus was born.

Each student was blessed this week with a gift from a generous donor. Each student received a large coloring Advent calendar that has different facts, messages, and activities each day. Some teachers have opted to use these in school, others have chosen to send home.

This month is busy and full of joyful events. Please see the information found below about the events.

December 4 - - Students may wear their blue SFSS spirit wear shirt or the uniform of the day.

Dear Parents:

Absentee/Retake day is coming up! Inter-State/SLR Photography will be here on Dec 4 2023, to photograph anyone that was absent on original day and retake those

who are not satisfied with their original photo. Please be sure to send your original picture package back to the school with your child(ren) to give to the photographer when they go to the camera.

RETAKE DAY TIP: Many times the children are unsure as to what you were unhappy with, when the photographer asks... so it is a HUGE help if you attach a note with your returned package to the photographer letting him/her know what you're looking for. If your child(ren) was absent on original day and you would like to pre-order a picture package from the absentee picture day, please see the online order info below.

Contact Mrs. Liberatore to purchase or request more tickets and please send any money for tickets sold.

Don't forget while cleaning and getting ready for new clothing and linens that we have a St. Pauly Textile box in the large school parking lot. A percent of the weight is given back to the school.

Did you also know that St. Pauly textile takes clothes, linens (NO Pillows), shoes, and stuffed animals?

Just be sure that these items are placed in a tied bag and inside the shed.
