April 15, 2025
April showers..
As the promise of spring unfolds this April, bringing with it a sense of renewal, our district is also actively embarking on the crucial planning stages for several significant upcoming events. We are not only celebrating the season of renewal but also the exciting progress in our strategic planning, which continues to shape a dynamic future for our students. We are also eagerly anticipating the grand opening celebration of our Regional Innovation Center, with preparations underway to unveil this exciting new resource to our esteemed government leaders and community members. Furthermore, April is when we initiate the process for our scholarship awards, identifying and celebrating the deserving students who will be recognized for their achievements. The excitement for Prom is already building as initial arrangements take shape, and we are beginning to lay the groundwork for honoring our graduating seniors, whose accomplishments will culminate in the much-anticipated Graduation ceremony. This April sets the stage for a season of growth, celebration, and forward-thinking within our school community.
Sincerely,
Joe Stutting, Superintendent

When Joe is out Heather will step in and be an amazing leader!
Her love of pranks and humor is unstoppable!
One of my favorite parts of my position is observing in classrooms and collaborating with teachers to best support our students with targeted intervention that truly makes a difference.
I support student well-being and success by overseeing special education, counseling, 504 plans, and related services to ensure equitable access to resources for academic, social, behavioral and emotional growth through collaborations with teachers, coaches, administrators, and caregivers.
I have been in my current position for 4 years.
Tim Green, Principal Neil Armstrong Elementary
Thank you for this. This truly humbles me.
The best part of this position is greeting the students every morning as they arrive at the building for a new day of learning. We get the opportunity to get the students' day started in a positive direction.
What I do every day changes from minute to minute. Supporting and leading the needs of students and staff through a variety of different experiences.
This is my 8th year in the district.
Leon Moeller, Jr. High and High School Bus Driver
I started driving a bus 21 years ago. I was semi- retired & needed something to supplement my income without working 24/7. My wife suggested driving a school bus and 21 years later here I am.
I enjoy my kids and all of the people I work with. We have a great group of drivers. I've had Lancer Pride ever since I started school at North Scott in 1958 graduating in 1962. I got to be included in voting on the school colors and logo.
I saw my 3 kids kids graduate from North Scott along with a granddaughter.
I've been lucky to have had 2 bosses in LuAnn & Derek. I have been very blessed.

Lancer Lookout with SRO Jahns
LANCER LOOKOUT - APRIL
In 2024, Iowa saw a 70% increase in traffic deaths related to distracted driving compared to the 5-year average.
In April, the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau (GTSB) is partnering with law enforcement statewide to curb this alarming and unsafe trend. The enforcement project occurs in April, which is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
This is Officer Jahns letting you know that NO One’s a GOOD Distracted Driver.
The next time you’re pressed for time and it seems like multitasking in the car is no big deal, remember one out of every four traffic crashes is caused by driver’s talking on cell phones or sending text messages. Don’t risk your life, simply put down the phone and drive. Stay alert and arrive alive!
