Our First Week...
Welcome Back Wildcats!
Dear Families,
Ms. Norcross and I would like to thank our entire community for an incredible first week of the 2023-24 school year! Of course, every school year begins with nervous anticipation. But with this comes excitement and a look towards what is ahead.
As a school community, we are quickly establishing the routines and procedures that are going to push us through June. Thank you for your commitment to getting to school on time and ready to learn!
While flowing in and out of classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, and our play spaces, our students have done an exceptional job being safe, responsible, and respectful to their teachers and classmates. Daily classroom schedules that include Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and social emotional learning were established by our classroom teachers. As we have said, the classrooms are already alive with learning!
Arrival and dismissal have been incredible! Let's all keep our ultimate arrival time inside the school for 8:40 AM. If you are dropping your students off in the back, please make sure they are ready to leave the car safely and in a timely manner. Also, all early dismissals, should be completed before 2:00 PM so that there is no confusion with dismissal. Thank you for your help!
I thank you for a great first week. For our students and for ourselves, every day is a gift and an opportunity to grow. Let's make it the best year yet!
Attendance has been outstanding and we are continuing our district-wide push to make sure every moment in school counts! Below, you will see a picture of signs that are placed about town. Details below!
Our Ongoing Focus
Attendance and Responsibility
Attendance Counts!
#everystudentmatterseverymomentcounts
You may have seen the signs shown in the picture about town. One of the many district initiatives this school year is our commitment to student attendance. Research shows that students who attend school regularly grow academically at a higher rate than students who do not. Please make sure our Wildcats are here on time, here every day, and are ready to learn and grow safely.
Last Friday, our staff received professional development in our PBSIS positive behavioral support program that focuses on student supports and behavioral success. There are many PBSIS initiatives over the course of the school year. Students will be receiving tickets by school staff for positive behavior in our school! Posters and signs in and out of our classrooms serve as expectations for our students. Our PBSIS kickoff assembly for our students will be held on September 15 during the school day. This will prove to be a fun-filled event for our students and staff!
