Washington Caldwell Parent Update
Week of February 3, 2025
Message from our Principal
Hello Bulldog families,
One of our goals is to provide multiple learning experiences for all students. One example is our partnership with the SCJohnson/iMET Fab Lab through Gateway Technical College. We will be implementing instruction for our 4K students to introduce the concepts of science, technology, engineering, art and math. Fab Lab Manager, John Zehren, will be working with Mrs. Grieger, our 4K teacher, to introduce our youngest learners to these subject areas in a developmentally appropriate manner. In addition, Mr. Zehren will be working with our 5th and 6th graders on design, application and production using our 3D printers. We will be using a program called Tinkercad for these activities. We are very excited to partner with the Fab Lab to support these learning opportunities for our students.
Volunteers are an important and impactful part of our success as a school and a district. It is clear to me that we are very fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers that support our students, staff and families. Our volunteers fulfill many roles here at Washington-Caldwell. From shelving books, chaperoning field trips, tutoring students, making copies for teachers or working on the PTO, we would not be who we are without them. We are always looking for volunteers to support our students , staff and school community, even if it is only a couple hours per week. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your child’s teacher, or the main office for more information. Thank you!
Enjoy the weekend!
