Student Classroom Assignments, Schedules, and Transportation Information

Elementary classroom assignments and middle school student schedules will be released via Infinite Campus Parent Portals on Monday, August 5, 2024. Transportation information will be available in portals on Friday, August 9. Please contact your school office if you need assistance with your parent portal.

Grissom and Prairie View Families are Invited to Student/Parent Walkthrough

Wednesday, August 7 from 9 am - 12 pm and 5 - 8 pm

The walkthrough provides an opportunity for parents to purchase locks, gym suits, spirit wear, pick up pre-ordered school supply kits, etc. Students and parents may also walk through the building to familiarize themselves with the location of classes and lockers.

Thursday, August 15 from 9 - 10 am

This is a special time for families to meet their principal and teachers and learn everything they'll need to know about the first day of school. Please join us!

Please note the Board of Education adopted an amended calendar at their June meeting. The changes are listed below:

• April 1, 2025 - Election Day - No School
• April 21, 2025 - Teacher’s Institute Day - No School
• June 5, 2025 - Half-Day - Last Day of School

D140’s Special Olympics State team was recognized at the July Board of Education meeting for their outstanding performance at the Summer State Games held June 7 - 8 at Illinois State University.

Ten student-athletes competed in the standing long jump, shot put, softball throw, 50-meter run, and 100-meter run. The team brought home one gold medal, three silver medals, three bronze medals, a fifth-place ribbon, a sixth-place ribbon, and three participation ribbons.

Congratulations to Jeremiah A., Samir A., Caitlin C., Benjamin C., Erin D., Dylan F., Gabe J., Timmy O., Rickson R-D., and Jake Y.

A big THANKS goes out to Special Olympic Coordinator Ashley Krizik and everyone who came out to support the team!

We look forward to seeing our students and their families at Tinley Park's National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, between 6 and 9 pm at Freedom Park, 7835 Timber Drive.

Hosted by the Village of Tinley Park and the Tinley Park Police Department, National Night Out is an annual community-building event that promotes police/community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

The event features family-friendly entertainment and the opportunity to meet members of Tinley Park’s Police, Fire, Emergency Management Agency, and Public Works Departments. Visitors can also view the many Village-owned vehicles on display. Other activities include family entertainment and booths from local businesses.

• Thursday, August 15 - The Board of Education Meeting will be held at the administration building at 7:00 pm
• Tuesday, August 20 - Open House at Elementary Schools for EC, Preschool, K-5 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
• Wednesday, August 21— First Day of School for All Students (EC - 8). Elementary school students will attend from 7:55 am to 2:25 pm. Please note that middle school start/end times have been adjusted by a few minutes. Middle school students will attend school from 8:40 am to 3:07 pm
• Monday, August 26 - Middle School Open Houses from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
• Monday, September 2 - Labor Day - No School
