๐ซ A Note from your Administration ๐ซ
Hello, Husmann Parents & Guardians!
As we start to prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, we want to take a moment to share some important information about our student sectioning and placement process.
At Husmann, our dedicated staff spends countless hours throughout the year getting to know each of our students. Our goal is to provide a positive and supportive environment where your child can grow and succeed throughout the year. We take great care in considering a variety of factors when determining classroom placements, ensuring that every child is placed in an environment where they will thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are confident that our staff will create the best spot possible for your child for next year! We appreciate your trust in this process and in our shared commitment to doing what is best for all students. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we finish this year strong, and look ahead to next year as well!
Your Partners in Education,
Mr. Sromek, Principal & Ms. Fitzgerald, Assistant Principal

The assessment measures the five health-related components of physical fitness that have been identified as important for overall health: cardiovascular endurance, body composition and muscular endurance, strength and flexibility. Crystal Lake Police Department Safety Presentations
As part of our ongoing collaboration with the Crystal Lake Police Department, Community Resource Officer Kristiana Stolzman will return to District 47 schools starting April 15th to deliver important safety presentations. These age-appropriate presentations will address crucial topics such as automobile and bike safety, home safety practices including secure gun storage, community safety measures including abduction awareness, and the dangers of substance abuse. Scheduled between April 15th and May 2nd, these assemblies aim to equip students with essential knowledge and skills to navigate potential risks responsibly and were created based on the instructional mandates from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and are mandatory with no option for opting out, as per state requirements. Presentations have been tailored to ensure each grade receives content suitable for their age group.
Social Emotional Learning:
Students are learning ways to use self-regulation skills when solving problems.
Some of our building learning goals include: Make oneโs own decisions about learning (materials, texts, and tasks) Move into a task quickly Sustain independent work on a task to completion Stay focused Know when a task is complete Self-evaluate and reflect on work Maintain awareness of self in relation to physical space Know when one needs help Expand oneโs best efforts

The end of the school year is quickly approaching - which means Staff Appreciation Week is right around the corner! This year our theme for the week will be Husmann Farmers Market where we will have a fun market style set-up for the staff with a different focus each day ranging from a Build Your Own Bouquet Bar to a picnic lunch to a mini-market where staff can "shop" all things fresh and local!
We can't wait to spoil our Husmann staff one last time before ending the school year, and truly could not do it all without your generous donations of time, talent and money. "Jellybean." If you're able to donate your time and/or talents by helping bring this vision to life during Staff Appreciation Week (Monday, May 5th - Friday, May 9th) please view our SignUp Genius here. If you're able to contribute in another way by providing food, drinks or other necessities, please view our SignUp Genius here or our Amazon Wishlist here.
Thank you for helping to make this year so special for our Husmann staff!
