A NOTE FROM MR. CLINE
Dear Charger Family,
As many of you may know, today (Friday 12/13) is Assistant Principal Forshee’s last day with CMVS. She is an irreplaceable asset to our school and we are so grateful to her for her service at CMVS and in CMS as she moves on to a position at UNCC. We will greatly miss Ms. Forshee, but at the same time we are thrilled that she has this great opportunity to make an impact at UNCC. We are fortunate to have had a very strong candidate pool for a new Assistant Principal to come in to take over this position. We are almost finished with the hiring process and have a transition plan in place to bridget the gap between today and the start date of our new hire.
We strongly encourage our senior families to take advantage of the FAFSA drop-in session at Allegra Westbrooks Regional Library on Thursday, December 19th. Staff will be on hand to assist with FAFSA completion so that this is taken off of your plate. If you have a senior, please take advantage of this great opportunity. Additional information is included below.
Perfect attendance is so important to our Chargers’ success and we have gift cards including Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, and Amazon for five winners during second quarter. Please help support your Charger’s attendance so they can be included in the drawing.
As we look to showcase our students and staff, please follow us on Instagram:

It is of paramount importance that we maximize instructional time and student engagement at CMVS. In light of that, we have explicated our attendance policy which can be reviewed below. Students must arrive at synchronous sessions on time. Students will not be permitted into class if they are ten minutes late or later as it is a disruption to the learning and halts the process of instruction for the teacher. Thank you for supporting your student’s success with this.
Have a great week!
John
BEST WISHES TO MS. FORSHEE
Ms. Forshee's last day at CMVS was Friday, December 13th. We wish her the very best of luck in her next endeavor. We are currently in the hiring process for a new Assistant Principal. In the meantime, please reach out to Ms. Graham (middle school), or Ms. South (high school).
The UNC Catalyst Conference connects North Carolina’s next generation of catalysts for positive change. This occurs during a weekend at UNC Chapel Hill to develop leadership skills and awareness on issues impacting our society today.
Our conference serves as a network for participants and UNC college student mentors to meet people from diverse backgrounds; a platform for participants to voice their opinions; and a space for participants to learn about social justice issues and to develop strategies to combat said issues.
Through the facilitation of activities, workshops, and discussions, our goal is for our participants to walk away from Catalyst Conference feeling empowered as activists, leaders, and visionaries. We hope that our transformative conference will inspire them to give back to their communities, as well as challenge them to envision solutions for critical issues beyond the scope of their hometown.
The official application link can be found here: https://forms.gle/kJZ6mehfTs8CN4x46 and the application deadline is January 2nd, 2025.

TECHNOLOGY OR TEAMS ISSUES?
If you are having a tech issue, please fill out the Tech Issue Form. This will help issues be addressed as quickly as possible and help us keep up with our record keeping since there are only two of us handling these issues. Emails are harder to keep up with and do not leave a paper trail that everyone can access.
If you are having a Teams issue is please fill out the Teams Issue form. These issues are harder for us to troubleshoot in-house, but we are sending these request to the district for support.
Both of these forms are linked on the Tech Help page, which all students and parents have access to through links on all canvas pages and the CMVS website.
Please utilize these forms rather than emailing teachers and staff.
ALL PARENTS MUST COMPLETE THE EMERGENCY HEALTH FORM
