PROSPER ISD STUDENTS NAMED ACADEMIC ALL AMERICAN
On December 7, Avery Parker and Tanish Chauhan were recognized by the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) as Academic All Americans. The Academic All American award recognizes high school students who have earned the degree of Superior Distinction in NSDA; completed at least 5 semesters of high school; demonstrated outstanding character and leadership; and earned a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
Both Avery and Tanish compete in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking at Prosper High School, coached by Ms. Hannah Rodriguez.
PROSPER ISD STUDENTS ADVANCE TO THE DISTRICT LEVEL OF THE NATIONAL SPELLING BEE
Prosper ISD had just short of 5000 students compete at the fist level of the Scripp's National Spelling Bee in October. In November, each campus held their Campus Spelling Bee. 470 students at our 23 campuses competed at the Campus Spelling Bee after advancing from the previous level. The students below were the Campus Champions who will be advancing the to District Spelling Bee on Dec. 12.

Daniel is a 4th grader. His winning word at the campus level was graphite.
Bryant Elementary - Aarav Suresh
Aarav is a 4th grader. His winning word at the campus level was grosgrain.
Christie Elementary - Jatin Kala

Cockrell Elementary - Prathyush Ravi
