PRINCIPAL LETTER

Dear HLA Families,


March is already here, and we are excited to share with you the latest updates about our school. First and foremost, we are happy to announce that the construction of our new school building is going according to plan, and it will be ready before the scheduled time. We are grateful for your support throughout this process.


I also want to take this opportunity to express my deepest sympathies to all those affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time. We are grateful for the efforts of our students and parents in organizing bake sales and other fundraising events to help support the relief efforts.


Speaking of our students, I am extremely proud to announce that 93% of our current students have re-enrolled for the next academic year. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and staff who continue to provide a nurturing and challenging learning environment for our students.


Finally, I want to extend a warm welcome to our new students who will be joining us in the coming academic year. We look forward to getting to know you and working together to achieve your goals and aspirations.


Thank you once again for your unwavering support and commitment to Horizon Leadership Academy. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and prepare our students to become the leaders of tomorrow.

BAKE SALE

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents and students who generously contributed to our recent bake sale. We are thrilled to share that 93% of our current students have enrolled for the 2023-2024 academic year, and we owe a great deal of gratitude to our supportive parents. Your continued trust in our school is a true testament to the quality of education and supportive community that we strive to provide. We look forward to welcoming back our returning students and families, as well as meeting and getting to know our new ones. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education and for being a valued part of our school family.

LAYLAT AL-MIRAJ

We celebrated our Laylat Al-Miraj with our students at HLA on Feb, 16, Thursday. After Ms. Hasmeta's speech about the Miraj, we had a Kahoot contest. Kahoot winners are Zehra Huseyinli, Muhammad Siddik, and Nurgul Myhmanova. Congratulations to our lovely students...

ALUMNI MEETING

An alumni meeting was recently held with the attendees to discuss future plans for the Alumni community. The group engaged in productive conversations about upcoming events and initiatives to help foster connections among Alumni. Stay tuned for more updates about upcoming opportunities.

MIDTERMS

We would like to remind everyone that the 3rd quarter midterms are beginning on March 1st. This is a crucial time in the academic calendar, as midterms provide an opportunity for students to assess their understanding of the material covered thus far and identify areas for improvement. We encourage all students to take their studies seriously and prepare well for the upcoming exams. Teachers will be providing study guides and review materials to help students prepare, and we encourage students to make use of these resources. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your teachers. Let's work together to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

HLA FAMILY BREAKFAST

We are excited to invite HLA Parents and Students to the HLA Family Breakfast, which will take place on March 5th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Raindrop Turkish House. This is a great opportunity for us to come together as a community and enjoy a delicious breakfast.

LAYLAT AL-BARAAT

At Horizon Leadership Academy, we will be celebrating Laylat al-Baraat on March 6th with our students. We believe that this night is a time for spiritual growth and renewal, and we encourage our students to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with Allah and seek His forgiveness.

We wish all our readers a blessed Laylat al-Baraat. May this night bring you peace, forgiveness, and spiritual enlightenment.

FIELD TRIP

We are excited to announce that our students will be embarking on a field trip to the George Ranch Historical Park on March 21st, 2023. This immersive experience will transport our students back in time to the 1800s, where they will explore historical homes and buildings, participate in hands-on activities, and learn about the rich history of Texas. We believe that field trips like these provide valuable opportunities for our students to engage in experiential learning and deepen their understanding of the world around them. We are looking forward to this exciting and educational adventure with our students!

MAP TESTING

We hope all our students have a wonderful Spring Break and are ready to get back to their studies. We would like to remind you that the students will have the MAP test after the holiday. These tests are important in terms of measuring the academic progress of our students and ensuring that they are on the road to success. We encourage all our students to prepare well for these exams and do their best. We wish all our students the best of luck and hope for excellent results from everyone!

QUR'AN COMPETETION

We are thrilled to announce our participation in an upcoming Quran competition both in and out of school. Our students have consistently excelled in these events and we are confident they will do so again. The selected surah for the competition is الحشر on page 545. We encourage all parents to support their children in practicing and preparing for this special event. Let's showcase our school's excellence and strive for success in the name of Allah. Good luck to all our participants!

RAMADAN!!!

Ramadan is approaching and we are excited to announce that we are planning an Iftar dinner with parents on April 4th at Raindrop Turkish House. We believe that this event will be a great opportunity for our community to come together and break bread during this special time of year. We kindly ask parents to save the date and join us for this special event. More details will follow soon, stay tuned!

SEERAH FAIR

We are excited to announce our upcoming Seerah Fair, which will take place at the beginning of April at our school. This event is an excellent opportunity for our students to learn more about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to explore the significance of his teachings in our daily lives. We invite all parents to join us in celebrating this special occasion and to witness the hard work and creativity of our students as they showcase their projects and presentations. This is an event you won't want to miss, and we hope to see you there!

NEW ENROLLMENT

The Horizon Leadership Academy is excited to announce the enrollment period for new students. In March, new students' families are encouraged to complete the enrollment process for the upcoming academic year. The enrollment process can be completed online. We are looking forward to welcoming our new students and are committed to providing them with the best education possible.
