Eastwood Heights Parent Update

Dear Eagle Families,

We’re soaring into another fantastic week at school, and this one is extra special—it’s Kindness Week! 💙✨ We invite all students to join in on the fun and participate in our dress-up days to spread kindness and positivity throughout our school.

We’ll wrap up the week with our Kindness Dance—a time to celebrate the power of kindness and the amazing community we’re building together. 🎶💃🕺

Additionally, our 3rd-5th grade students will be taking their math, science, and reading interim tests this week, following a mock STAAR test format. Please help them shine by ensuring they get a good night’s rest and arrive on time each day. Their hard work and perseverance make us so proud!

Eagle Up!

We have an exciting week ahead! Please take note of the upcoming events and important reminders:

• Food Drive Challenge! 🥫💙 – We need your help! Senator Blanco has challenged us and Scotsdale in a friendly competition to fill the El Paso Fighting Hunger Food Bank. Let’s show our Eagle spirit by bringing in canned food donations all week!
• Brain Power Academy 🧠✨ – For the next few weeks, sessions will be held on an as-needed basis. Your child’s teacher will notify you if they need to attend.
• Parent-Teacher Conferences 👩‍🏫📚 – Scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, from 3:00-6:30 PM. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to set up a meeting to discuss their progress.
• Eagle Clubs 🦅🎨🎶 – Continue this Thursday after school.
• Kindness Dance 💃🎶 – Happening Friday during P.E. times! Glow sticks and concessions will be sold—let’s celebrate kindness in style!
• Eagle Bots Success! 🤖🏆 – Huge congratulations to our Eagle Bots for competing and placing 5th & 7th in their competition! We are so proud of their hard work and dedication!
• Eagle Flight Dance Team Performance! 💃🎭 – A huge shoutout to our Eagle Flight Dance Team for their amazing performance at the Eastwood Boys Basketball game on Friday! They did a fantastic job, and we are so proud of them! 🎉👏

🎯 This Week’s Focus: Testing Success! 📚✏️

As our 3rd-5th grade students take their math, science, and reading interim tests this week, here are three key ways to help them do their best:

1️⃣ Rest & Recharge – A good night’s sleep is essential for focus and brain power. Aim for at least 8-10 hours of rest each night.

2️⃣ Fuel for Success – A healthy breakfast gives students the energy they need to stay sharp. Encourage a meal with protein, whole grains, and fruit each morning.

3️⃣ Encouragement Matters – A simple “You got this!” can go a long way. Build their confidence by reminding them to take their time, use strategies, and do their best!

• Extraordinary Eagle: Will be held on March 19th. This event is dedicated to students who display exemplary characteristics of “Responsibility". Classroom teachers nominate only one student per classroom. This event is by special invitation only.
