Dublin High School Newsletter
Week of September 16, 2024
Principal’s Message
Dear Irish Family,
As we progress through the opening weeks of the new school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on how incredibly well things are going. I am filled with pride as I witness the dedication and effort that our teachers are putting into their classroom instruction. Every day, I am privileged to visit classrooms and see firsthand the high quality of education being provided to our students. The commitment of our teachers to fostering a positive, engaging learning environment is truly remarkable, and I could not be more proud of the work they are doing.
I am equally impressed by the enthusiasm and engagement of our students. The energy and eagerness to learn that I observe during my daily visits to classrooms is a testament to the outstanding efforts of our staff and the positive culture we are building together. Our students are active participants in their education, which sets the tone for a successful school year ahead.
In addition to their academic pursuits, many of our students are actively seeking opportunities to serve our school community. This week’s newsletter highlights several students who have taken on leadership roles by serving on advisory boards, youth leadership council and advisory board, student government, and teen court. Their commitment to service reflects the values we uphold here at school, and I am incredibly proud of the difference they are making both inside and outside the classroom.
Our juniors and seniors are also making the most of the scholarship opportunities that have been announced, demonstrating their drive to succeed and prepare for their futures. These efforts show how well-rounded and motivated our students are, setting a wonderful example for the entire school.
Our athletic teams continue to excel as well. Our football, softball, volleyball, and cross-country teams are all off to a fantastic start this season, demonstrating both skill and sportsmanship. Of course, special recognition goes to our Fighting Irish Football Team, who remain undefeated with an impressive 4-0 record. Their hard work and determination are a reflection of the pride and spirit that define our entire school community.
As we continue into this school year, I am confident that the positive momentum we have built will carry us through to even greater successes. Be sure to check out this week’s Smore’s Newsletter to learn more about the wonderful things happening here at Dublin High School!
Thank you to our teachers, students, families, and the entire school community for your continued support, dedication, and passion. Together, we are building something truly special.
Sincerely,
Michael Overstreet

Business and Technology Pathway
Students in the Business and Technology pathway at Dublin High School College and Career Academy had the enriching opportunity to visit the Rinesdi Banquet and Event Venue. Owners Mr. Richard Nesbit and Mrs. Dianne Nesbit generously shared invaluable insights on entrepreneurship, emphasizing that success is within reach for anyone, regardless of their background, as long as they remain dedicated, work hard, and persevere. During the visit, students toured the venue, which provided an up-close look at the operational side of a business, sparking their curiosity and inspiring many to explore entrepreneurship further.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rinesdi for investing in the future of Dublin High School's students.
Education as a Profession Pathway
Students enrolled in the Education as a Profession (EAP) program have commenced their
observational and mentorship activities in the IGA PreK and Kindergarten classroom. This
initiative is an integral component of the EAP curriculum, designed to provide students
with insights into potential careers in education while simultaneously developing essential
skills. Through this experience, students have the opportunity to explore their interests in
specific grade levels and content areas, thereby gaining a diverse range of experiences
across various educational settings.
