Wednesday: ZOOM Day - Business on top and casual on the bottom
Thursday: Decade Day - Dress your favorite decade
Friday: Green Day! For Mental Health, Green Up and Gators!!
We are also midway through the reincarnation of the Dodgeball tournament. Students that want to participate have been battling in 5 min games each morning as we move to getting closer to finding our champions!
Next Year Staffing Changes!
We have posted their current positions for next school year on SchoolSpring! We are still looking to hire a 7th/8th grade math teacher, a Choir teacher, and Reading Interventionist. Look out soon for other updates of our newest hires.
8th Grade Promotion: DATE CHANGE
Because of the conflict with some of our 8th graders and the National History Day, we are moving our 8th Grade Promotion to Wednesday, June 14th at 6:00 pm at the High School! It will be a great event celebrating the learning, growth, and accomplishments of our 8th grade class. More details to come in the NEXT Gator News!
8th Grade Canada Travelers: Final payments and forms are due this Friday, April 21. If you have any questions, please email Ashley Dubois (ashleyd@mpsvt.org) or Bibba Kahn (elisabethk@mpsvt.org). Also, DATE CHANGE! The mandatory parent-student meeting is now scheduled for Wednesday, May 17 at 5:30pm.

MSMS Vermont History Day Winners!
Over 50 Main Street 7th and 8th Grade Students attending the Vermont History Day at UVM on April 8th, we had 24 students that won different awards and our very own Dan Maguire was Vermont's junior division nominee for the National History Day Teacher of the Year. 17 Students qualified for the National History Day competition in Maryland in June. Our CA is working to raise money to help offset the costs of travel and expenses for our students who are planning on going to represent MSMS and Vermont at the National Competition. Volleyball Success! MSMS Students continue to be successful in all avenues, including our Volleyball A team won 2nd place in the Essex Jamboree earlier this month! See pictures in this Gator News!

Many 5th grade students that have poems displayed in town at the corner of main street and east state street.

Opportunity for Gator Greatness: VERMONT CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS!
The 36th Vermont Scholastic Elementary School Chess Championships will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023 at the Capital City Grange Hall on Vermont Route 12 in Berlin, VT. All Vermont elementary school students are eligible to compete for individual State Championships in six divisions -- each grade Kindergarten through Grade 5.
All abilities are welcome and encouraged to participate. Advance registration is required. Complete rules and registration information can be found at http://vtchess.info or by contacting Mike Stridsberg, Tournament Director, at mike@vtchess.info.
