BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH
The month of October is Bullying Prevention Month.
Pinellas County Schools' define bullying as:
Bullying is when a person or group deliberately tries to make someone else feel upset, scared, or ashamed. People often bully others who have any difference of behavior, appearance, culture, race, class, ability, or identity.
Please talk to your scholar about what bullying means. Explain to them the importance of advocating for someone who is, or may be being bullied, by reporting the behavior to the nearest adult. You can also report using FortifyFL or the Say Something app on Clever.
Explain why it is important to promote kindness toward others along with acceptance of differences and the inclusion of all people, whether they be of different race, religion, or background.

We show OPTIMISM at Ridgecrest
Each month our school focuses on a character trait to model, practice and showcase around our campus. For the month of October, we highlight OPTIMISM.
You can support us by talking about what OPTIMISM looks like, sounds like, and feels like at home and at school.
Ways we encourage OPTIMISM at school:
- Encourage each other to believe in our own successes.
- Believing in yourself and accomplishing great things.
- Working together for the greater good.
