Updates from the Office
It’s that time of year when temperatures vary greatly from day to day. Please check the weather each
morning and make sure your child has appropriate outerwear for the day’s forecast. Students will go outside for recess daily unless it is raining or wind chills are below zero. As a reminder, our handbook states that when the temperature drops below 60 students are expected to have a light jacket to wear.
Please continue to remind your student that personal belongings such as trading cards, toys, or items of that nature should remain at home and do not need to be brought to school.
It has been a joy to get into our routine and be a part of your child's learning journey together. Thank you for your continued support!

EPS is holding its first Parent University to discuss ALICE and district safety. This event is being held on Monday, October 14 at 6:00 pm. Location is forthcoming. CLICK HERE to let us know if you are attending and/or would like to receive additional information. You will be sent more information as we finalize the details on location. **The form is not required for attendance.
Book Nook
Last week, we got out the dictionaries. Students looked up the definition for a favorite animal. This week, we used an encyclopedia to learn more about that animal. The Michigan eLibrary provides online encyclopedias free of charge for Michigan residents. You can find them at mel.org/kids. Both Britannica and World Book encyclopedias are available. Because of our location on the Indiana border, you may be asked to type in a driver’s license number or a public library card number. The Cass District Library offers free library cards for Edwardsburg teachers and students. Find out how to apply on their website.
Happy reading and researching!

Introducing the Eddies Developmental Basketball League (EDBL)!
We are excited to offer youth basketball to students enrolled or living in the Edwardsburg school district. Registration for the 3rd-5th grade boys' session is currently open and can be found at the link below. If you are registering multiple players, you will need to fill out a form for each player at this time.
You can register at the door; however, to ensure you receive a jersey at the start of the session, we encourage you to pre-register. Jerseys will be provided later for those who register at the door, but note that jerseys are only required once games begin.
Coming this winter, we will be offering a Junior League session for those in K-2nd grades. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach, please indicate that on the registration form. If you have any questions, please email eddiesdbl@gmail.com or send us a message.
