Message from the Principal
Veronica Gale
As we approach the halfway point of the school year, December is packed with important events and celebrations!
Music Program: Join us at the high school on Monday, December 2nd, for our annual music program. We can’t wait to see our talented students shine on stage!
Benchmark Testing: Kindergarten through 5th-grade students will participate in benchmark testing this month. We’re eager to see the progress they’ve made as we measure their growth and identify areas to continue supporting.
End of Second Quarter: The second quarter ends on Friday, December 20th. We’ll kick off the winter break with a brief assembly followed by our much-anticipated Festival of Fun, a day filled with exciting activities to celebrate the season!
Let’s make this month both productive and memorable as we close out 2024 and prepare for the new year ahead!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...
Well... I have to say I don't love the cold and the wind. BUT, as we flip through the stations and hear about "peace on earth," "good will toward men," and every other joyful tune we hear this month, I'm overjoyed at the snow as I think about the joy it brings to our students. "Good will toward men" doesn't just mean MEN, it means all mankind, all of us. And our "good WILL"? That means we want the absolute best for others. We so adore our students! The snow isn't so bitingly cold when we see young faces light up in excitement. It takes the edge off, at least a little bit. And as we practice living out our "good will" toward others, we thank you for choosing Washington and giving us the opportunity to join you in raising great kids who ALSO learn to practice living out "good will" toward others. We saw that less than a week ago as young students brought dollars to wear hats and give to a local family in need. One sweet boy had actually emptied his piggy bank to share! I couldn't be more proud of young hearts who show this kind of love and generosity! Happy December, Washington Ohana! Let us enjoy this season of joy, generosity, and good will toward others.
