As SLAAIT has wound down just a bit, there's not too much SLAAIT-related news. Here's a selection of some recent AI news pieces that may be of interest.
New developments in AI with new President
Reuters reports that on his first day of office, President Trump rescinded President Biden's fall 2023 executive order that sought to mitigate risks of AI to national security by requiring the disclosure of safety test results.
This morning, President Trump announced up to half a trillion dollars in private sector funding of AI infrastructure. Oracle, Softbank, and Oracle have been announced as part of the joint venture, according to this piece by CBS News.
On the same day, the Associated Press reported that many technology executives were present at the inauguration ceremony. Additionally, TikTok's CEO was in attendance. Perplexity AI is reportedly in talks to merge with ByteDance, which owns TikTok.
Two frameworks for AI usage in libraries

In this piece, Ms. Heller also links to the Library of Congress' AI Planning Framework. Both of these pieces may be helpful for librarians who are looking to implement a standardized approach or policy/procedures for using AI within their libraries.
