Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
May 17, 2024
We had a disjointed, but good week at Lutherville Lab this week. A highlight of this week was Box Day! Box Day is a tradition at Lutherville, inspired by the children's book Not A Box, which celebrates the power of a child's imagination. On Thursday morning, Lutherville Lab primary students had an opportunity to joyfully create whatever their imaginations led them to as well. Please enjoy the pictures below.
We are also proud of our 4th and 5th graders finishing MCAP testing this week. The students really showed their achieving mindset in giving their best effort. Make-up testing will continue next week.
We are planning our End of Year events!
- We are still seeking volunteers for Sports Days on May 24th (3rd-5th) and May 31 (K-2). If you would like to volunteer, please let Mr. Bruns know at jbruns@bcps.org
- If you are one of the many, many volunteers who has made this a great school year at Lutherville Lab, we invite you to attend our Volunteer Breakfast on June 10th and be recognized for your contribution by our appreciative Leopards. Please complete this RSVP so that we can plan.
- If you are attending a class picnic the week of June 3rd, you may park and come around to the back fields/picnic location and check-in with your child's teacher. We have learned that our courts (tennis, basketball) are getting resurfaced with work beginning the week of May 27, so picnics that have traditionally used that space will be elsewhere. Your child's teacher will communicate with you on picnics.
- If you are attending KG Celebration or 5th Grade Farewell, which take place in the building, you will be required to get a badge. We will continue our practice of pre-printing badges for family members who have RSVP'd and either visited the building already this year, or provide the needed information to pre-print. RSVP opportunities are forthcoming.
In partnership,
-Mr. McComb
