This is a reminder that ALL BASD students have early dismissal on Friday, December 20, 2024.

Winter Break begins on Monday, December 23rd and continues through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The district will be closed during the break. School resumes on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

I am thrilled to share that we have completed our largest Rubik’s Cube mosaic, consisting of 180 cubes, and built by 27 enthusiastic students! This project has been a fantastic opportunity for teamwork and creativity. The students love to visit the library and see the new mosaics.

There is an upcoming “liBEARian latte” fundraiser at Brakeman’s Café in January. The proceeds will benefit our middle school libraries, and East plans to use these funds to purchase more Rubik’s Cubes, enabling us to create even larger and more complex mosaics in the future.

Many moons ago in a far-off place, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, showed up. Would she be able to pass the Sensitivity Test, marry her prince and help Lady Larken and Sir Harry to the altar? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the classic tale The Princess and the Pea provides some side-splitting shenanigans.
