SLAMP Day, formerly LAMPE Day, is coming! On Tuesday, May 27th, students will rotate through Stem, LRC, Art, Music, and PE activities. Our intermediate students will participate in the morning while primary students have their session in the afternoon. We have a few volunteer spots for each classroom. If you are able to come volunteer to attend SLAMP Day with your child's class, please sign up here!

Ferson Creek recently held a heartfelt recognition for our teachers celebrating 20 and 25 years of service in the district. At a small reception, colleagues gathered to honor their incredible commitment, passion, and lasting impact on generations of students. Mrs. DeMien, Dr. DuCharm, and Mrs. Cournaya were honored for 25 years of service while Mrs. William and Mrs. Dilling were recognized for 20 years of service. We are proud to celebrate these outstanding educators—thank you for your years of dedication!

For the entire month of May, 10% of sales from the St. Charles Tropical Smoothie location will go back to the D303 student support fund, which ultimately provides support to all 18 of our educational entities. This runs from May 1st-31st, and the coupon gives a free 12 oz smoothie with the purchase of an entree or 24 oz smoothie. MEDICAL FORMS AND MEDICATION

It’s hard to believe there are only a few weeks of school left. This is a reminder that you will need to come to school to pick up your child's medication by the last day of school, Thursday May 29th or earlier that week. Medications that are not picked up at the end of the year will be disposed of according to the D303 policy. This policy also does not allow medication to remain in the health office over the summer for reuse in the fall. Medication must be picked up by a parent or adult designee with the parent’s permission.

Looking ahead to the 2025-2026 school year, if your child requires medication or any action plans, your child will need a new form completed by their health care provider for the school year. Forms can be found under health services on the D303 site or linked directly here:

All incoming kindergarten students must present a record of a Complete Health Examination (physical exam) with all required immunizations prior to the 1st day of school. A vision examination is also required for incoming Kindergarten students.

Students entering into kindergarten or 2nd grade will need a dental examination and form completed within 18 months of May 15th, 2026.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year it is important that you register your children as soon as possible. This is separate from fees which will be added to Pushcoin in July.

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new iPad sign-in and sign-out system at Ferson Creek Elementary! This process is used at several other D303 elementary schools with great success. The iPad is located in the foyer next to the office window. This new tool is designed to offer a more streamlined and confidential check-in/out process for students. Thank you!

Illinois law requires all children in Kindergarten and Second grade submit a dental examination form completed by a licensed dentist by May 15.

The exam can be done up to 18 months before the May 15 deadline, so if your child has been to the dentist in that time, please call the dentist and request that the exam form be prepared. The completed form can be dropped off in the main office or emailed to Nurse Holloway. All health forms can be found on our district website.

Summer is coming up soon and that means Summer Strings Camp! Summer Strings will be from June 9 - 18 at Thompson Middle School. All students are encouraged to attend to keep up their skills over the summer. Please see the flyer below for more info and the registration link.

Summer Band Opportunity!

D303 offers a summer camp for incoming middle school band students at the end of July. The camp runs Monday-Thursday evenings from 5-6:30 from July 21-31.

For decades, GPS has been offering free programs that aim to empower and strengthen families, individuals and communities. As a partner organization, District 303 will support promoting upcoming programs and their importance to our local community.

• Messages can be left 24 hours a day.
• Please leave your name, your child's name, phone number, reason for absence and your child's symptoms if ill.
• If you have advance notice of an absence please fill out our prearranged absence form, inform your child's teacher and submit the completed form to the front office. You are allowed up to 5 prearranged absences per school year.

Our parent volunteers are an integral part of our school community. Therefore, we'd love to invite you to spend time with Ferson Creek students during lunch and lunch recess.

Please keep in mind that it is important to keep our students, staff members, and volunteers safe while they are in our schools. Given that, all volunteers must:

• Have your ID ready and sign in at the office to receive your visitor badge.
• EACH YEAR complete a Volunteer Liability Form. If the school does not have one on file for you and you do not provide one, the office will provide one for you when you come for your first day as a volunteer.
